George Papadopoulos has decided to stick with his plea agreement with Robert Mueller, his wife told ABC News.George Papadopoulos, a former foreign policy adviser to President Donald Trumps campaign, has decided to stick with his plea agreement with special counsel Robert Mueller, his wife told ABC News on Wednesday.
The decision puts to rest weeks of public hand-wringing by his wife, Simona Mangiante Papadopoulos, who has been acting as an informal spokeswoman for her husband. She said in an interview with ABC News earlier this month that her husband was strongly considering backing away from the agreement he struck with Mueller that led him to plead guilty to lying to the FBI.
George will take responsibility for some inaccuracies during the interview with the FBI, Mangiante Papadopoulos said in a statement to ABC News on Wednesday, adding that she hopes the judge determining his fate will not send the former Trump campaign adviser to jail.

(82,849 posts)What, did George say the earth was 89 million miles away from the sun? Because that would be inaccurate. Or did he say he never, no never, not ever, meet with Russian operatives during the campaign? Because that's not inaccurate; it's an outright lie. And he was specifically warned against lying to the FBI.
Have fun in prison, George. Don't look for Simona to be hanging around when you get out, either. By the looks of her, she'll be nothing but a memory before the clang of the cell door fades away.

(32,356 posts)Papadopoulos misled Mueller about when and where he met Mifsud, and it allowed him to get away before the feds could find him. He's gone for good now, and Mueller was pissed.
That's all I know, but there's more info here:
