No kidding...
Semion Mogilevichs name and who he is was told by Rachel Maddow tonight on MSNBC tonight.
It's the mob. It's all about the mob. Everybody say it out loud. It's the Russian mob.
I've been waiting for this to be said out loud on TV. It just was.

(7,808 posts)to eliminate the best and most effective law enforcement personnel. Strzok, Comey, Mueller, and now Ohr. All of these officers worked to rid the world of organized crime, much of it Russian.
Rachel scared me tonight. I have dislike presidents in my lifetime, but this is the first time that one seems to be a violently dangerous threat to innocent people in the US. And his criteria for attack is not limited to where one is born - it is also based on one's political beliefs.

(13,522 posts)the Russian mob on the streets of NYC, ffs - yeah, he sure as hell knew all about trump, and obviously, trump sure as hell knew of McCabe, and targeted him from the get-go.
Yeah, last weeks elation has given way to a grey, foul dread now, but - ( ) tomorrow is another day, dammit!!!!!!!!

(6,709 posts)I just take it as a given that Russia = oligarchy = mafia and that it has been so for years if not decades. In fact, I see what is and has been going on as a corrupt global elite that has just been doing what they do--laundering money, evading taxes, influencing policy and politics--finally beginning to be exposed. I think at least part of the reason Dump rants about unfairness and witch hunts is that This is What They All Do, and Have Been Doing...and now, suddenly, at least some people in power are objecting. In public. I even think it is fair to call it the Deep State...if you think of the Deep State as having been asleep at the switch for quite a while, and then suddenly waking up (a not-very-omniscient / omnipotent Deep State, but a Deep State nonetheless).
That's just me. I do think that Mueller was an inspired and inspiring choice to head this investigation and I hope it/he dives deep into the swamp. It/he may save us...along with voting all these mofos out.

The gangs that prosper in modern Russia tend to do so by working with rather than against the state. In other words: do well by the Kremlin, and the Kremlin will turn a blind eye. If not, you will be reminded that the state is the biggest gang in town.
