Hate. His job is to play golf. I couldn't be happier with him not having a comment on this.

He has the opposite of a political job. If he wants to get involved in politics and political issues, fine. But I don't really want him shooting off his mouth just because he's famous.

even commenting about people who don't comment.

Though we'll never say it's our job, else we'd be accurately perceived as holding others to a higher standard than we hold ourselves to.

He could get political if he wanted to, but he's under no obligation. If he doesn't want to, he doesn't have to.

Never any variance. It's like a defense mechanism. Little grin and I've got go get out of here. He'll say it to Steve Sands or whoever is interviewing him. Food is often the excuse. I guess he thinks it's warming or funny. After 20 years it's more boring and predictable than anything else.

But not sharp to take one example and think it is meaningful toward the question posed. It probably could have been anything.

Grew up as a golfing prodigy, using his dads military connections access to military golf courses. While he did attend public schooling his entire childhood was consumed with golfing, quite literally from age 2.
