Republican Party Chairman:Americans Who Want Romney To Release More Tax Returns Are The New Birthers

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus compared the overwhelming majority of Americans — including a growing number of Republicans — calling on Mitt Romney to release his tax returns to birthers, who sill claim that President Obama was born in Kenya.

“It’s ridiculous,” Priebus said Friday morning on CNN’s Starting Point, when asked to respond to polls showing that 63 percent of the public thinks Romney should release more tax returns. “I’m not spending any more time talking about this issue,” the Chairman informed the hosts, who then pressed him about Donald Trump’s role and the GOP convention.

People, are you registered to vote? Because this is the year we get to break off compassionate conservatism in the Republicans' tailpipes. We'll never get another chance like this, and it depends entirely upon all of us coming out to stick it to The Man on election day.

Confirm your registration today AND VOTE!

release a short form of the document then release the long forms of the documents and then if I still don't believe it will be the exact thing. Cause in the whole birther thing the actual proof that it was false was actually addressed no matter how silly it was, here... nothing. Please release the documents and put the tax rumors into silly land or else stop crying.

By arguing that the demand for Mittens' tax returns is just as ridiculous as the demand for Obama's birth certificate, aren't they saying that their own birther contingent, which apparently includes several members of Congress, is a pack of loonies?

That's gonna get some folks excited...

The rushpublicans are desperate to get the birfer meme into this campaign. It's no longer the birth certificate, it's college records or dental records or who know what rabbit hole these dead-enders want to head down. While discredited, there are still those whose inner racist just can't help but glam onto the "Kenyan" thing. Many are Paulbots who are a wildcard in this year's election few talk about and are about to make the Rmoney coronation into a circus. Methinks Rheinhold is trying to cut them off at the pass by trying this distraction...less talk about taxes and more dogwhistles to the racists and biggots.

He also hopes by tying the tax questions to the birfer noise he hopes to diminish the question. He knows Chicken Noodle Nuze loves the "all sides do it" meme and are too lazy to fact check so that his spin goes unquestioned and it fits perfectly into the false equivelency memes the corporate media thrive on.

I guess Fox News needs one of these:

I get all the reasons these two things are not similar. Beyond all that, though, there's the blaring insult this is to their elected party members who kept this meme alive, and their voting block who believed them.

What type of message do they expect this to send to their birther party members?

Then he got special permission to release the original. They still screamed. It would be like Obama releasing only the name of the hospital he was born in and saying "I'm not telling you any more." False equivalence again.
