Speculation. Question

Morning Joe is speculating
Would trump decide not to run again, especially if he is primaried. ?

Question

Do you think Mueller or Rosenstein would make a deal not to bring any charges if he were to agree to not run? Is it possibly negotiable?

It still matters to men like Mueller. He can only act on past behavior. He cannot act as a result Trust Buster Aug 2018 #4
True, but a plea bargain is a future consideration that is court enforceable. But Bernardo de La Paz Aug 2018 #5
No, a plea is about present consideration given for help in an active case. Trust Buster Aug 2018 #6

But I don't think Mueller would propose a political bargain or agree to one, other than one involving resignation.

I just watched the video on another thread. Turns out, OP misrepresented the comment to begin with. No one on the show suggested that such a deal be struck. John Heilman claimed that Don the Con might think that, if he didn’t run again, Mueller might back off. This exchange was taken out of context in the OP.

that the possibility of a deal was suggested on the show.
The question about a possibility was my own.

Trump is nothing but Pride at this point - he can't admit he has failed, and walking out, particularly if primaried would be admitting failure.
