YAY! The Nuns On The Bus are back!!!! And off to Mar-A-Lago!

For the sixth time since 2012, a Catholic social justice group is sending a group of religious sisters across the country on a bus tour ― this time to protest against the GOP tax law ahead of the midterm elections. The 27-day, 54-event tour is set to hit 21 states, including a slew of competitive congressional districts. The tour will end with a ďFiesta for the Common GoodĒ outside of the Trump-owned Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

The goal of the October tour is to highlight GOP House membersí support for the $1.2 trillion tax cut law, which is unpopular in public opinion polling. Critics have assailed the law for increasing the budget deficit and income inequality. The law remains popular in some Republican-leaning states and with the GOPís donor class but hasnít proven to be the midterm winner many GOP operatives hoped.

1. Cool. Do you happen to know when Mar-A-Lago open for the season?

3. Not the official date but sometime after Labor Day in the Fall I would expect

Since the nuns will be finishing up their 27 city bus tour there, Iím sure they anticipate the opening and are scheduling the bus tour end party when itís open.

5. Thanks!

I posted a thread earlier, but it sunk like a stone. Thanks for putting the information out.

Here's the full itinerary for the tour. They may be making a stop near you.

6. Good to hear!

I recall an interview with the sister who represents the nuns in 2012 when they were being told to be silent by the Pope when they spoke out about health care, especially women's reproductive health care.

She said something to the effect of, "When you are in Rome, and don't work directly with those who are suffering - the AIDS patients, women who have too many children, those people who are at the beside of their same sex partner, perhaps you forget who your flock is. Jesus first appeared to women when he rose from the dead, and sent them to tell the apostles - who doubted their word until they saw him. We're just continuing our Biblical tradition of bringing the men up to speed on Jesus' message."
