Dénouement (pronounced day-noo-mahn) is French for "unknotting", and denotes the point in the story when mysteries are unraveled, ...The final part of a play, film, or narrative in which the strands of the plot are drawn together and matters are explained or resolved.
..this week the edginess and nightmares are building up, as if to an imminent denouement.

I can't be the only one who feels we're at that point in time. Trump's destruction cannot go on much longer & the outcome is imminent, whether we're prepared or not.
My faith is in Robert Mueller, NY AG & the powers of good in the world.
Word of the day: Dénouement
Thank you

(6,831 posts)It's called "the prestige."
First, set "the hook," then bait with "the turn," then reveal "the prestige."

(48,603 posts)For one thing, the Republicons have gone relatively silent on tRump. I think they will switch suddenly and pile on beating him up. But it looks as if they might time it too late. And their mid-term elections strategy is looking like they actually want to be linked with tRump, thinking it helps them with their base and ignoring that tRump is shrinking the base and the strategy alienates swing voters.
The Blue Wave we think will materialize (but musn't count as fact yet) will dramatically change the "chessboard" and rearrange the pieces, limiting tRump's scope and greatly increasing the public's view of things by way of meaningful Congressional investigations.
Mueller may drop some heavy indictments or reports at any time. I saw an unsubstantiated rumor come and go that said he would write two reports, one ahead of the main one to deal with the lesser stuff.
I think we are in the middle of the middle. That has to end and then the dénouement can begin.

(6,110 posts)in 19 months. I heard the number of judges appointed by the fake president is close to a record in 19 months.
Every month that goes by, more judges get appointed and more regulations to protect environment are destroyed.
Judges last 25-35 years.
Damage to environment can last decades.
Mueller needs to step on the gas.

(6,110 posts)on tax evasion charges from a decade ago? That job can be handled by any local prosecutor such as the Southern district of NY office of DOJ, or and it over to IRS. IRS does that for a living.
A Special Prosecutor's job is to go after the main object, which in this case is the Trump campaign from 2015-2017 time period. None of the 18 or so charges against Manafort fall within that period.
Why is my thinking wrong?

(12,344 posts)But I think Mueller will not be able to save us, even if he does have all the evidence. We will need to save ourselves, by voting. And that is a whole different story.

(6,110 posts)Best to vote in November. Bring your friends and relatives to the polls who normally do not vote. We can win both the House and Senate if that happens. Impeachment is the only realistic method to remove Trump from office. We don't need 67 senate seats. There are at least 5 republican senators who would support impeachment.
Even if Mueller succeeds in filing strong charges against Trump, it has to go through the SCOTUS. Mueller can't send agents to remove Trump from office. If Kavanaugh sneaks through, I have serious doubts Mueller will succeed in SCOTUS.

(5,449 posts)There is no guarantee that Trump will be "stopped." In fact, Mueller may announce tomorrow that his investigation is concluded, and that no evidence implicating Trump was found.
It's not guaranteed that his support won't grow, or that he won't ax everyone in the investigation without any consequences.
There is no imminent or ensured outcome. That is the scary part. We're on a wild ride that is going to crash somewhere, but we have no idea where yet.
