"What’s important about the images is the pink showing that there are huge parts of the West with no fires – but lethal quantities of smoke.

Sacramento isn’t near any blazes (shown as flames) but health officials have urged residents to remain entirely indoors this summer because the air is so toxic.

Places that had major fires last year might have thought they were OK in 2018 – nothing left to burn — but what security is there when the smoke load is enough to choke areas hundreds of miles from a flame?"

Thank goodness they made maps really difficult to find, or we might learn something.
This might be the replacement:

20. Thanks. Next they're going to say the earth is flat and MerdeLargo is the center of the universe.

Then we can really start to have a fake Space Command. Everyone will have to wear VR goggles to see it, tho.

10. Here's an interactive page for B.C.'s wildfire situation

It's been extremely dry (yesterday, Victoria, B.C. had its first rain since June) and then a lot of lightning rolled through and sparked fires all over the place.

17. The map posted must be old.

There are no major fires in Ne FL and when I checked the site none at all are listed for Florida.

8. I was in Salt Lake City earlier this week, the haze from the fires was incredible

You could barely see the mountains that line the horizon, and a few mornings the smoke smell was very strong. I can’t imagine breathing that air much longer, let alone being closer to the flames.

CRICKETS!

Worthless trash in charge of our national security. Screw the border wall. Put the wall money toward fighting climate change and wildfires.

18. The more they burn, the drier the region, the more future fires will burn it all into desert.

Some of these fires must be arson. I can't believe so much northern Canada is so burnable by lightning.
