This sums up the 'Trump GOP' perfectly.

http://www.stonekettle.com/2018/08/zero-sum.html?m=1

"You've heard me say this many times before: It’s not heaven if everybody gets to go.  The best part about Conservative Heaven isn’t being up there with Jesus, no, it’s gloating at the poor saps burning forever down below. Ha ha HAH. We’re Saved, fuck you, losers! And that horrible selfish religion shapes everything else. We got ours, our healthcare, our food, our clean water, our homes, our jobs, our retirement, our stock options, our savings, our opportunity, our salvation, so fuck you. The best part of America is that everybody doesn’t get to go. There’s no point in privilege if everybody is privileged. You can’t think of yourself as exceptional if everybody is exceptional. There’s no point in being rich if everybody else is rich too. They see liberty and justice and freedom as a zero sum game. If others get more, they are somehow diminished, lessened, cheated of their exalted status and made average.

This is the very core of modern Republicanism where everything is for profit, prisons, healthcare, education, religion, civil rights, equality, justice, liberty, all of it for money. And so long as you get yours, well, then to hell with everybody else because there’s not enough to go around and heaven isn’t heaven if everybody gets to go.

These people are almost literally the rich sons of bitches who rowed away from the Titanic in half empty lifeboats as 1500 people drowned in freezing water behind them. Fuck you, losers! I got mine."

If not for government subsidized infrastructure, they wouldn't be able to exploit workers the way they do. The nation wouldn't be as urbanized as it is, with concentrations of markets and work forces.

The poor is kept poor and middle class made poorer by a thousand little cuts everywhere and by a thousand little boosts from the rich buddy networks.

First to market wins -- beyond markets this applies to anything else.
Those who discover land first get to claim mineral/water rights in perpetuity;
those who plan for the future control the 'now',
those who control now control history.
Those who live to tell the story make the rules.
Those who control the money get to pick who make the rules.

They deliberately do not say that one of the main principles of business it that you make money by spending money.

A well run government spends taxpayer money to support taxpayers so they can be productive and earn greater prosperity and enjoy life more. Good government spends on:

* Education so people have skills and wisdom (understanding) to be really productive.
* Health care so that illness is prevented, alleviated quickly, and people can spend more time gaining prosperity.
* Environment so that people are not debilitated by pollution.
* Consumer protection so that people don't have their life savings taken by crooks.
* Productive infrastructure such as public transportation for efficient movement of goods and services and people.

When you invest in the well-being of the People of the USA, the country remains competitive and a great place to live.

Also:
Raise taxes and lower spending when the economy is good.
Lower taxes and raise spending when the economy is bad and needs stimulus.

Democrats know this, but Republicons are aways on about lowering taxes no matter what, so they therefore spend up huge deficits.

wonder where their politics lie.

These broad statements about the GOP and richies also leave out a very rich demographic who might be willing to use their wealth clout to save their only home, Earth.

I'll noodle around and check out their politics.

So St. Peter wasn't feeling up to his old self, having manned the Pearly Gates for so long so he contracted out to some other angels to help him out, and instead of a single file line, everybody outside of Heaven waiting to get in were divided into groups based on what church they attended, and various angels would come and get them at 30 minute intervals to give them a tour of Heaven. St. Peter saw this and thought it was a pretty good system. Then something changed. Everyone was still divided up into groups, but instead of by church, every day a smaller group would go first and would pass by the larger group with smug faces then a couple hours later, someone would come for everyone else. It still worked, but St. Peter was confused so he asked the head angel he had assigned to help what was going on and who were the groups. "Oh, well, we decided we were wasting time with multiple groups, and we figured out we could just divide everyone into Southern Baptists and everybody else." "I still don't understand. Why those two groups specifically?" "We just find it makes our jobs easier if we can make the Southern Baptists believe they're the only ones getting in."
