(1,979 posts)and would listen in on private conversations and then use that information (read this in one of the articles about him) - honestly, does anyone believe he was not on a conference line listening to that call (if indeed he was not physically there)? And it shouldn't be hard to prove. find the time that the meeting took place, find out if ANYONE was on a conference/vants line, check cellphone or land line records - jesus, nothing is private in these days and it would be a bit of nothing to connect to him listening in on the call (even if he used a disposable phone, the number can be traced!!!).
Dear Creator, please allow justice to be served soon. We must save who and what we can from the damage he has done and the damage is still yet to do!
VOTE - AND TAKE AT LEAST ONE PERSON WITH YOU!!!

(11,845 posts)Junior was jumping for joy... who does not think he ran directly to daddy for a pat on the head and a plotting session?
Rump was definitely conferenced in on that meeting.

(21,551 posts)If Russia finds some "dirt" and passes it on as a "gift" I'm not sure there is anything wrong with that.... and that is I think the strategy they are going for................
BUT................
If you know they committed a CRIME to get the "dirt" (I.E. hacking) and that you offered them something as payment for the dirt (I.E lifting sanctions), well NOW you have your collusion and conspiracy and that IMO is what Mueller needs to show. That drumpf was beholden to Putin as payment for helping defeat Hillary.
I think drumpf's defense is essentially going to be "hey, they just left this envelope full of documents on my doorstep. Nothing wrong with looking inside it!"

(58,724 posts)"A foreign national shall not, directly or indirectly, make a contribution or a donation of money or other thing of value, or expressly or impliedly promise to make a contribution or a donation, in connection with any Federal, State, or local election."
It seems like paying some foreign national to dig up dirt on a political opponent would not violate this law, but getting it for free would. Is that not a fair reading? I also guess it depends if said "dirt" is considered a "thing of value".
Takket
(21,551 posts)said "dirt" is considered a "thing of value"
expect a battle over that point............. a battle they are going to lose sinc eit can pretty easily be shown that the "dirt" effected their campaign tactics, so obviously it was valuable

If Trump was on a speakerphone and multiple people flip, there can be multiple people testifying about Trump's knowledge of the meeting.

I don't believe it's actually screenprinted on the cup, because the artwork doesn't curve around the face of the mug.

(9,670 posts)"...my wonderful son, Donald". No one else could make that statement.
This really just confirms that what the media is reporting is true, that Junior's time in the barrel is upon us. Trump isn't worried about fabrications by the press - after all, they're not fabrications at all! (and if anyone knows that, the PERP knows that) - he's scared shitless because he was likely briefed on the status of the investigation last week and this is what he was told.
This looks to be a huge week.

(1,980 posts)Junior is being charged and The Donald will be listed as an un-indicted co-conspirator at the end of the day. That seals obstruction as well. It is a foregone conclusion. The only question is how many sealed State charges there will be waiting for him after he resigns.
PearliePoo2
(7,768 posts)For some of us who are embarrassingly ignorant in legal speak, what does an un-indicted co-conspirator mean?
How does this play out and how does it conclude?
State charges? Really? In New York? Man, that sounds good!

(33,643 posts)THAT ... is NOT 'done all the time in politics', dipshit.
If HRC or any Dem had done such a thing, then HID it for a year, THEN offered ever-changing stories about who was involved, who knew what when, AND clear and obvious preferential treatment were continually proffered by the now-POTUS who obviously got PUBLIC HELP in winning from that adversary beginning shortly after such a meeting? One in which 'sanctions against said adversary' were ADMITTEDLY discussed? AND now-POTUS was refusing to implement addt'l sanctions against said adversary, which had been passed near-unanimously by Congress?
Are you freaking KIDDING ME right now?
This is NOT 'done all the time'. At least, not LEGALLY anyway.
The f***ing Reich-Wingers would be absolutely losing their SHIT over this if the shoe were on the other foot.
They'd be Linda Blair in The Exorcist demented over the scenario of this meeting if Podesta and Chelsea and Hillary's personal lawyer had been there. Period.
