"Deleted Families" Yep, that's what the US government calls seperated families

An important happening today was the Senate Judiciary hearing on immigrant family reunification.

I have yet to see any news reports on it. Please post a link if you know of any media reporting.

Some things I picked up on watching a good portion of the hearing:

• The government actually called the separated families, “deleted families”!
• None of the panel leadership would take responsibility for the act of separating the families. It just ‘somehow’ happened.
• There was no policy as to how to do it.
• They did not even think to place a plastic bracelet on the children and parents to identify them. Remember, some are infants!
• The government has created 100’s of orphans!
• No one on the panel had actual numbers of kids and their locations. “We will have to get back to you on that” they reported.

It is an utter mess, and no one is taking responsibility.

One shocking moment was when Sen. Blumenthal (D-CT) asked if any of them thought the “zero tolerance” policy was a good idea. No one on the panel rose their hand. He then asked who ordered them to separate children from their parents, no one responded.
