Scott Walker in Trouble in WI

A new poll from NBC News and Marist College shows Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker trailing a Democratic challenger by double-digits, part of a raft of rough results for Republicans across three Midwestern states.

The poll showed Wisconsin state education superintendent Tony Evers, the Democratic primary front-runner, taking 54 percent to Walker's 41 percent in a head-to-head match-up. Walker has warned for months that Republicans need to be active and vigilant as he runs for a third term, with Democrats winning a series of down-ticket elections in Wisconsin earlier this year.

But Democrats have had to grapple with a crowded Democratic primary field that, at one point, included more than a dozen candidates but has shrunk to eight ahead of the Aug. 14 primary. Evers has consistently polled at the front of the Democratic field.

The results are sharply more negative for Walker than the most recent Marquette University poll of the governor’s race in June, which showed Walker narrowly ahead of Evers, 48 percent to 44 percent.

That's a good one too. I think we've more than paid our dues in terms of having to go through horrible election days.

We could have Christmas in November every Election Day for the next ten years and it still won't make up for the trauma we all experienced in November 2016.

He's destroyed both public and private sector unions. He's trashed environmental regulations and opened public lands for mining. He's de-funded social safety net programs and refused billions in federal funds while giving billions away to a foreign company to build one factory. He's made the teaching profession so unattractive that districts are scrambling to find teachers a few weeks before the school year starts. He has decimated the once proud University of Wisconsin- and believe me I know because I work there!

Almost everything Trump is trying to do to the USA, Walker did to Wisconsin first.

Minnesota is far ahead of Wisconsin in so many ways now (Packers vs. Vikings notwithstanding) and you can't let them drag you into the sewer. It's going to take us a couple decades to climb out of the mess we're in over here, if in fact we ever do.

He'll probably win the GOP primary but so far the polls show that all of the possible Dem candidates would whup his ass. MN has improved enormously since he went away - we now have the best economy in the midwest. We can't afford to take him back.
