Poll: Women far more likely to back '18 Democratic candidates than men

The gender gap between parties is stark ahead of November's midterm elections, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday.

Fifty-seven percent of female voters polled said they would back Democrats on the 2018 generic House ballot, compared to 44 percent of men who said the same.

Male voters were more likely to back Republicans, with 46 percent of those polled saying they would vote for GOP candidates. That’s a 14-point gap from the 32 percent of women who said they would vote for Republicans.

The poll found that generic Democratic candidates were favored over Republicans 51 percent to 39 percent, a 12-point lead for Democrats ahead of the midterms.

I think we should give up identity politics and think about the financial trouble the poor Trump voters have had to face.

every time Sarah Palin winked at the camera or said something somewhat coherent, the CNN live polling numbers surged with men in the audience.

Maybe because I know few were even listening. They looked and saw someone not contorting herself into a pretzel to please them. That alone is enough to offend a lot of guys.

in both parties, it is just reversed. Hmmm, interesting. I wonder how the GOP will deal with its party's continual shrinking. The GOP voter is getting older and dying off as "minorities" (including women who are 51% of the pop.) keep growing.

As an amateur political wonk, I'll say run more women. I think a lot of us have thought or realized this anecdotal evidence. Their's only two or three men I'd vote for in the next presidential primary.
