there *might* be a good reason for that- namely ensuring that we can be alerted to/obtain evidence thereof. FB, of course, should be reporting any such posts to authorities.

They often post their support for beating children. There is a significant segment of the US population still supporting Trump's despicable policies, which should tell you something.

I am not saying I was "prescient" enough to predict all the problems that has come from Facebook, but I did predict the privacy issues to be first and foremost.

and I haven't been back. Don't know what happened to my page and don't care. I didn't think before I set up an account, and I somehow forgot that people who I never really liked could find me. Facebook is loathsome, on a good day.

What if Zuckerberg is a Rightwing Trumpster? He knows if he's found out his empire will be decimated by users leaving, so he has to keep it on the DL. But his business model and his application's policies sure are favorable to RIght Wing causes.

It began as a hack into Harvard's web page where photos of female students were taken without their knowledge for a contest to rate their appearances as "Hot or Not."

As soon as I read about it way back when, I told myself that I would never give a cent of my money or my personal info. to whoever was responsible for this sick joke that aimed to humiliate intelligent women based on looks.

This was the type of misogynist prank that Trump would have loved if he had had the technical skill to do it (and if his dad had donated funds to Harvard instead of to Univ. of Pennsylvania/Wharton to get his son in as a transfer student for the final 2 years of undergraduate studies at Wharton.

And yes, Mr. Zuckerberg is a Republican....one with political ambitions...

I'm out. I used to go on FB nearly every day and enjoyed seeing posts from old friends etc. We went out of town for an extended vacation in May and since then, I haven't gone on much at all. And I never post anything.

After reading about what Zuckerberg has been doing to support Trump etc. I'm DONE!

Unfortunately, I don't think I can delete everything that's in there already. It's like trying to remove all of metastatic cancer cells. But I'm finished.

And continue to monetize it long after you've "canceled" your account.

We've all got to get smarter about what we share with the internet/media companies. Think ancestry.com, 123andme, google, dropbox, apple, microsoft, everyone. The Europeans have put some privacy rules (GDPR) in place with some real teeth but the beagles will be looking at ways to circumvent and the repuglicons need the cash (please) from their donors.
