He's claimed repeatedly he's 'built the embassy' for like $400,000, but not only was that JUST to get the site OPEN as an embassy instead of a consulate, but then they actually plan to spend $20,000,000 more to make this TEMPORARY site actually useful ... until the 'real site' (which probably will be $100's of millions) is built. They don't even know where the real site is going to BE YET.

Why are you (effectively) defending this lying sack of sh*t? Srsly ...

I mean, sure, it's possible (I'd say even probable) that the real site never gets built and we hobble along with the crappy temporary site indefinitely, but ... at THIS point, this 400K boast is a complete and utter LIE.

I was there last month. Beautiful building overlooking Jerusalem. The cost will be security upgrades to the building. They are not building a new structure. None is needed. If you are ever in Jerusalem please visit.

than life.

He also nods when his lie lands well. Nods, moves on to the next lie. Or, if the lie doesn't get the response he wants, he pauses, scans, and hits with an old, well received lie - then moves on to the next new lie.

...exactly what it was, but he was out in the boondocks trying out some new schtick and tried a new line that didn't get the response he wanted, so he tried it two or three more times. I wondered if he was going to use it in his next rally, or if he was going to drop it. When all else fails, you can always rely on the golden oldies like "Lock Her Up!"

He's a thought planter, a manipulator and he does it well. Not everyone falls for it but then he doesn't need everyone - just enough will do for his purposes.

It's scary, really.

Sure, it's also laughable - but no denying it's effective and that's what makes it so scary.

Good sense seldom prevails under the influence of a madman. It's only after the atrocities/bad things occur do people start to wonder how they got there.

It really is a beautiful building with a great view overlooking Jerusalem. I highly recommend anyone visiting Israel to visit the embassy while you are there. A few countries, mainly in Central and South America have announced plans to move their embassies to Jerusalem and in a few years I predict everyone will be there.

But every winning presidential candidate since the 90s pledged to move the embassy. Congress on more than one occasion passed resolutions overwhelmingly, to move the embassy. I believe it was long past time and I think its cost was minor compared with other embassies the U.S. has created in recent years.

I don't trust any of his supporters (otherwise they'll elbow you when you are not looking).

I don't trust the religious hypocrites that support rump and all of his idiotic mutterings and tweets. Idiot.

I don't trust someone that fools around on his wives numerous times, paying all of them off w/ dirty money.
I don't trust anyone that 'overlooks' this kind of behavior deliberately, tactfully accepting this kind of behavior. If my church elders did this, I guarantee you that they would no longer be the elders.

I don't trust anyone that has blatantly lied to us about his tax returns and donations (he didn't donate the amount he's claimed on his tax returns I bet, by far, a tax fraud, plain and simple).

Republicans and other supporters of rump, pull your heads out of the sand and really look at what's rump is doing.

He's more motivated by those who flatter him - so the "good" or even the bad of anything isn't a consideration - unless he is hoping to cause bad to a certain person or a people he feels have slighted him in some way.

Meaning I doubt need came into consideration.

This isn't the I/P forum and I will not get into any of that.

I don't want to go I/P forum either. Was just wondering if the old embassy was out dated and we the people had a few hundred million lying around that needed to be spent on a new one.

I would gladly give up nice things for a new embassy.

...peace there has been maintained by the secular State of Israel for almost 70 years. In these modern times Christian sects cannot agree among themselves on who gets access to holy sites and when, and never have been able to. When Jerusalem was overrun by Crusaders in the Middle Ages, they slaughtered every man, woman, and child in the city.

But wait! It gets better! While the Ultra-Orthodox Jews refuse to accept the modern State of Israel because God told them in no uncertain terms that he would send a Messiah to found a theocracy, they are glad to accept help from the Evangelical Christian end-timers because reasons, despite the fact the Evangelicals believe all unconverted Jews are going to burn in Hell for eternity. The End-timers believe the return of their Messiah will be heralded by cataclysmic war in the Middle East. When they talk about "restoring Israel to its Biblical boundaries" that would pretty much do it -- just compare a modern map and the map included in many Bibles.

Trump, a man who believes only in himself, is catering to people who have no business in American politics.
