"Conservative columnist: I would take Obama back in a nanosecond."

Conservative columnist: I would take Obama back in a nanosecond.

A conservative columnist for The Washington Post on Friday wrote that the current political climate makes him miss former President Obama, saying he would take the Democrat back in a “nanosecond.”

Max Boot was a foreign policy adviser in both of the Republican presidential campaigns against Obama in 2008 and 2012.

Despite his criticisms of the former commander in chief, Boot wrote that Obama’s presidency now “appears to be a lost golden age when reason and morality reigned.”

Boot wrote that he gained a “new perspective” on the Obama administration after watching him deliver a speech in South Africa on the 100th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s birth.

But I'm on a Kindle at the moment, so it's like using the web with one hand tied behind my back.

...Compared to the tRump* era, Obama's Presidency certainly looks like a "Golden Age" for American politics.

And I totally appreciate the Kindle comment... good for reading most books, not so good for surfing the Web.

persons like Max Boot, who I have usually considered to be a stark raving rightwing lunatic, now looks wistfully back on our last President

Since the alliances we may have to form to undue Trump's damage are likely to make me nauseous, I am going to try very hard to remember that this is not all about me

and looked objectively at the Obama presidency while he was still in office. Imagine if they had pushed Rs to work with Obama, rather than fighting him at every turn.

Imagine where our country would be today had conservatives any semblance of ethics and morality during the Obama years.

That you don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone.

There’s a lot of that going around. I still clench my teeth so I won’t scream “WHAT IN HELL WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU VOTED FOR THOSE PEOPLE!!!”.

"Mr Bond. I am Max Boot. And... you... are about to dieee."

Literally every conservative who hates Trump -- Max Boot, Nicole Wallace, Steve Schmidt, Rick Wilson, David Frum, Eric Erikson, etc. -- hated him since before he was president.

I can't think of a single conservative (other than the batshit Ralph Peters) who publicly supported Trump and then publicly decided it was a mistake.

Just what exactly were you doing during his eight years in office that would have increased the chances of his successor possessing the qualities you now would have him back for?
