Republicans and rich assholes think that capital gains, money earned for doing nothing, are taxed too highly. This is despite historically low capital gains tax rates. Thrice married, purported billionaire Donald J. Trump, who has never earned a wage in his entire life, agrees of course.
So they are going to try to do something about it in Phase Two of the tax fuckery. Conservatives, billionaires, and their professional prostitutes are floating a "correction" to the tax code that indexes capital gains to inflation. It's complicated (which will work to our advantage!), but here's an op-ed today explaining the "pro" position: http://thehill.com/opinion/finance/398092-washington-needs-to-end-hidden-inflation-tax-on-our-capital-gains.
All you really need to know is that anyone paying capital gains tax on long term capital gain will pay less. In some cases, significantly less.
This is not hypothetical. Fuckstains Ted Cruz and James Inhofe have already introduced a bill to effect this change. And now, some are pressuring Trump to fix it through executive order, which, believe it or not, he might be able to legally do.
This is a winning issue for November. Less than a year after their big, beautiful tax reform, they want even more. And who benefits the most? Yeah.
As we approach a $1 trillion deficit in 2019, Republicans and the President want to give even more money back to the rich. Run it up the flagpole.

(21,708 posts)Republicans want to give you Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid to the rich. As soon as this passes, they will start complaining about the deficits and look for something to cut, and those are about the only things left to cut.
