ONE reason the Dem Party lost 1000 legislative seats and every level of government and every federal branch of government is because for FAR too long FAR too many Dems have been jelly spined WEAKLINGS.
Weakness is political DEATH. Lack of clear and compelling messaging is political DEATH.
It is time for the Dem Party to re-grow its BALLS! (And I mean that metaphorically of course as I know MANY women with more BALLS than many men. I count Maxine Waters among them and Elizabeth Warren.)
Today Strzok SLAMMED those GOP ASSHOLES and so does Avenatti. Just beautiful. Enough of the pathetic weakness. Body slam these disgusting corrupt scumbag GOP assholes!
*** Also, credit to Dems on the committee who put on THEIR balls for this one and punched the GOP SCUMBAGS pretty damn hard. Good! More more more!

(560 posts)It's needed. Loved Obama and he did get some good digs in from time to time, but the extreme wing of the GOP showed him what they thought of his decency and civility, and the moderate wing did nothing to balance or restrain them. I'm not advocating indecency or boorishness, but when the soulless traitors who've coopted the GOP suit up, Dems need to be ready to fight back hard and seize the initiative.
We know what Trumpists plans are. They can't be bothered to hide them. But as Mike Tyson said, "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." We need to do more punching.

(93,783 posts)And, to put it politely, your posts are full of inaccuracies. Once again I will point out that, by the numbers, HILLARY WON -- and that means her policies and those of the Dem Party resonated with more people than did Trump.
May I ask -- again -- what you propose to do about the cyberinvasion by a hostile foreign power? What do you propose to do about Jim Crow laws? Gerrymandering?
Are you aware at all of which of our Democratic leaders are working hard on these issues?
No? Can you name any? Are you on their email lists?
Oh, and by the way, last time I saw you you were complaining about our "message" and seemed to think we had none to speak of and that's why we "lost." I recommended you read the Democratic Platform. Did you find it enlightening?

(1,580 posts)My posts are not full of inaccuracies and it is time to own up, wake up, and fix the mess.
I have REPEATEDLY said in MANY posts that Clinton won the majority. Doesn't matter in the end because she LOST the electoral college and LOST the presidency under our system. I have REPEATEDLY said there were MANY reasons for it; that Russia was part of it, that the Comey letter was part of it, that third party vote splitting was part of it, and that people staying home and not voting at all was part of it. But it was also because there were real campaign mistakes, ACKNOWLEDGED BY CLINTON HERSELF REPEATEDLY. She relied too heavily on analytics, virtually failed to campaign at all in key states, was too lackluster, talked about economics but did not put it front and center, etc. Her vote count was higher than Trump's but far too concentrated in urban areas and lost many areas Obama had won and had a lower overall total than Obama's.
But it goes well beyond Clinton and 2016. In 2010, 2014, AND 2016 the party as a whole ran SHITTY campaigns and LOST 1000 LEGISLATIVE SEATS, all levels of government, and all branches of the federal government. And the DNC under Wasserman-Schultz SUCKED.
Much of the gerrymandering you talk about happened after 2010. You fix it by winning back the swing districts with an effective political party.
Emails? Are you serious? I have had my skin in the game bigtime for decades. All these scattered political emails are NOT a clear, succinct, resonating, compelling MESSAGE. You don't get it. The party needs one clear and strong MESSAGE, not just a bunch of helter skelter emails from a bunch of people about all manner of issues.
And it doesn't matter what the hell that long platform is if the party fails to have one clear, strong, compelling message. You can't just hope that people will read some long document. You have to form a succinct, resonating political message and our party has SUCKED at it in recent elections. I would like to fix this and win again, along with fixing a host of other problems.
Do you have ANY interest in understanding why this mess has happened, the party's own role in it, and fixing the mess? Any at all? Do you want to actually OWN the mess and fix it? If so, great. If you just want to keep making excuses and trying to justify away the party's problems and not fix them then I suggest you get out of the way and leave the work to the rest of us. Because this year we can't just be the anti-Trump party. That is only half the battle. We need a strong, compelling, clear and succinct message based around a clear very value set and a very short list of key issues.
The party needs to learn now to brand and message itself again and talk CLEAR and STRONG again and it needs to take off the gloves and FIGHT again, and that means GET THE HELL ON OFFENSE AND STAY THERE. Simple as that.
Oh, and if you have in fact read all my posts you will have seen that I spend a ton of time BASHING THE SHIT OUT OF THE RE-SCUMLICAN PARTY as I have done in this OP. Gee, I guess that says something about my party loyalty.

These types of attacks and smears against Democrats and the Democratic party are nothing more than just loose bowel movements (ie: total shit) that require fine, honest and knowledgeable people like yourself to come around mop up someone else's mess... and CORRECT THE RECORD and POINT OUT THE "INACCURACIES" (I'm being polite).
All I'm saying is that it really serves no good purpose for people to denigrate and attack Democrats and the Democratic party. Those types of messages only serve to divide us and to weaken us. There are certain groups who complain and wonder aloud why they are viewed so suspiciously and with such distrust. I think the reasons are obvious.
Now is not the time to tear down our party. People need to understand that you don't GAIN political power by doing things that INTENTIONALLY STRENGTHEN OR BENEFIT THE GOP. That's all.

(1,580 posts)For god sake, READ EVERYTHING and HEAR EVERYTHING, not just what you want to see and hear. Your selective seeing and hearing is astonishing.
I have bashed the living SHIT out of the Republican Party time and time and time again in this OP, my responses, and TONS of others. If you have ANY question of my party loyalty you are refusing to see and hear.
Next, I have said over and over and over again that I, for DECADES, have been a loyal party activist and I will tell you that I have donated countless dollars and and amounts of time and shoe leather working to elect Democrats. Don't even think about questioning my party loyalty just because I ALSO offer healthy and badly needed critiques in simple clear language that is also good and blunt. I don't beat around the bla bla bla bush. I tell it how it is and it's about damn time people did.
Next, do you even care that the party has been SMASHED to pieces since 2008? Loss of every level of government? Loss of every branch of the national government? It didn't just happen by accident. It happened because the party has done a SHITTY job campaigning. PERIOD! We need to fix it and make sure we win big in 2018.
Bashing Trump and the GOP needs to happen and I am right at it. BUT, we also need a better message and a much better affirmative campaign too. And we need to be strong and speak with guts and clarity.
If you want to be WEAK and NON-REFLECTIVE and put your head in the sand of DENIAL then go ahead. But we must confront our mistakes and weaknesses, fix them, and take the nation back. This party has been too god damned WEAK and UNCLEAR and INEFFECTIVE in its attitude and in its messaging. It needs to be STRONG and CLEAR again. And we can do it. We just need to look to FDR, JFK, and Bill Clinton, and Maxine Waters, and Elizabeth Warren, AND to Barack Obama in his two campaigns, especially 2012 when he and his team pounded the crap out of Romney with a strong clear working class message. Case closed.
