Ocasio will learn. There is going to be a learning curve.

She has the tools for the job and will learn from established leaders all while holding her energy and style.

This article was put out before her tweet.

Ocasio-Cortez Highlights How Third-Party Quirks Can Muddle Elections

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/11/nyregion/ocasio-cortez-primary-third-parties.html

Don't allow her missteps to turn our current momentum into a way to attack Democrats.

Ocasio is completely inexperienced in these areas. She is learning every day. The nice thing is that she is young and will be considered a career politician by the time she is forty. She very well could be one of our best by that time. Then again, she might not be in office in a couple of years.

All of the grand statements being made about her, or in using her to attack others, is a bit foolish.

We are going to win this seat in the general. Less than 180,000 will be voting in the election. It is one seat that will simply count as a number for us. Leadership will be doled out elsewhere.

It's a Democrat hold.

Try your best to bite your tongue. We take issue with Presidents putting completely inexperienced people into cabinet positions. There is no time to learn in those situations. Ocasio has time and a great leadership team to help her along the way. When outcomes like this happen there will be foolish mistakes made by the individual. That is ok.

2. Let's just hope it's a one off error and not her normal

pattern of behavior.

6. Her lack of impulse control will not be cured overnight.

It will be tempered as time goes on.

5. They will evolve.

There is a difference in those you mention and Ocasio. The two you mention are well established.

Minor word games on my part, admittedly.

7. I doubt the average DUer is more "well-being established" politically

than Ms. Ocasio...She:s just beat a 10 term incumbent for a seat in the U.S. Congress.

10. Correct you are in that aspect.

I was referencing "DU" as you had done.

9. And she should do the same: Bite her tongue until learning all the facts

for any and every situation. I think that alone would help dramatically.

11. "Bite her tongue until learning all the facts"

True. I seem to hold myself to a higher standard than politicians.

13. I hope your right BUT the multi listing of candidates in NY

Has a long and well known history with Democrats almost always running on the Liberal ticket. Her referencing this with it talking to him first is a cheap shot and if she didn't know about it she probably shouldn't be a candidate.

It's the victor's responsibility to bind the wounds of the defeated and she sounds self righteous. If she doesn't change immediately she could lose this seat.

14. The polite way to make the same statement.

She suffers from youthful exuberance.

If healthcare became free tomorrow and all you had to do was drive to the local gas station to sign up, her age group would not do so in the largest numbers. Being a bit self righteous and thinking you are invincible often goes hand in hand with youth and inexperience. I truly think her learning cure will happen quickly. If not, she won't be around for long.

15. +1

I suspect there are some nuts on her staff spewing bullshit, too

EDIT: This is what sunk Bernie two years ago, so Ocasio would be wise to take note

16. Lord yes--I didn't think of that

I really want to hold her in high regard as a public servant, but she no doubt has a loose screws on her staff.
