Father of cave diver doctor died

SYDNEY, July 11 (Reuters) - The father of a cave-diving Australian doctor died on Wednesday, shortly after his son played a key role in rescuing a boys' soccer team trapped in a cave for two weeks in northern Thailand.
Anesthetist Richard Harris, who did the final medical checks of the 12 trapped boys and their coach, was among the divers who successfully ended on Tuesday a mission that had gripped the attention of the world.
"Early this morning Harry's father passed away here in Adelaide ... after they'd all come out of the cave," said Andrew Pearce, of rescue service MedSTAR in the Australian city, where Harris, also known as Harry, is a specialist.
"It was a complete, unexpected shock," Pearce, the organization's clinical services director, told reporters. He gave no cause of death or the age of Harris' father, Jim.

1. The whole cave saga has been the best the worst the most wonderful the most terrifying

experience of - ever.

So so sad, I am so sorry...no doubt Mr. Harris died with a heart full of love and pride for his unbelievably courageous son, but - still, itís too awful

4. Takotsubo ... heart swells up from sadness or prolonged anxiety.. or maybe pride?

I am sad for the diver to have lost his dad, but if his heart was full of pride and happiness that his son had done so well, it is kind of a beautiful ending.

Rest In Peace.

3. Very tragic

You come home from the high of having contributed to something beautiful only to realize you lost time to spend with your father. Really tragic.
