march, stage sit-ins, block roads, picket the White House and the Capitol building, hold signs, float balloons, and fill the air with screams of anger.
They really don't care. We have all the outrage. They have all the power.
Hopefully, the demonstrations will turn out and increase the vote. But let's not forget that we're dealing with criminals who specialize in voter suppression, gerrymandering, "lost" votes, "scrubbed" voter rolls, Russian assistance, and, if it comes to it, a Supreme Court that will find them to be the winners, -- no matter what. (Bush v. Gore)
Our single purpose, goal, aim, reason for existing at this moment, is to beat them at the polls and then, slow down their juggernaut that is bent on destroying democracy.
But there's one more thought that must be added here. What if they've corrupted the election system to the extent that we can't win no matter how large the turnout? What if we are facing a horrible future with Republicans remaining in charge of the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court, and the White House?
That's a big, "what if." Nonetheless, if it comes to pass, America, as we know it, may well be over.
We need a plan B.

That is all there is to it.
It can be taken away, starting today even...

Be sure to read the nature and control of political power. This can be our Plan B as well.

(34,977 posts)"Respect for the office" is nowhere in the Constitution.
"ICE" is nowhere in the Constitution.
The whole idea of parties and partisan politics is not really supported by the Constitution either. It's a whole different animal.
They do have power that we allow them.

(20,882 posts)Public shaming, interrupting dinners, blocking cars. As Michael Moore said circling the Capitol with millions of people yelling shame, resign go away and straight representing us not corporation and wealthy donors.
I love that turtle had another dinner interrupted.

(792 posts)Thanks for putting in two words, what I've been thinking for a while. We know there was something wrong with the last vote, because the exit polls didn't match up with the actual vote Tally's.
So let's say it happens again? Democratic turnout is twice what it was last time, and we still lose? What is Plan B??? An Arab Spring, in the United States? I'm willing to play my part to keep America free.

Trump's whining is a side show. Those who want absolute power, DON'T CARE about "civility," or any of the other crap peddled by the media.
THEY WANT ABSOLUTE POWER.
And it looks like they're well on the way to getting it.

(3,010 posts)are their greatest fear. They know when we march, people who might otherwise not care about viting, take notice. Those who do care, feel emboldened and energized. It matters. Don't let the Russian / republican tell you otherwise.

(15,023 posts)the whips, the chains, and 40% of the the country is backing you, do you really believe they give a rat's ass about "some so-called majority opinion"??
Hopefully, we can beat them at the polls.
But if not, we need a plan B.

(53,410 posts)If youre prepared for all outcomes you will find a way to deal with them. You need more than a plan B though. To me its like pondering your next five moves in a chess game. Each one can become obsolete the second your opponent makes their move.
Thats why it takes so long to make each move. Theres raging calculations going on just out of sight in the players brains.

(15,023 posts)while we've been playing with ourselves.
They have funded institutions such as the Heritage Foundation, the Federalist Society, and many other "think tanks" to establish their goals, lay out their plans for achieving them, and getting like-minded people into office, from local school boards, to city commissioners, to state officials, on up to the U.S. house and senate. They've succeeded brilliantly.
Control of local and federal courts has always been one of their objectives and, at that level, they are succeeding beyond their wildest dreams. Owning the Supreme Court has been their wet dream forever. Now they've got it.
We Democrats don't think this way. We've always relied on people "doing the right thing," and we've always believed that democracy would somehow, "magically," triumph over any evil that tried to attack it. We've had faith in the innate decency and goodness of human beings, while the enemies of democracy have spun their very effective webs to ensnare the minds of millions.
Well, here we are. We're on the right side of history, morality and humanity. So why are we being crushed? Because we underestimated the enemies of freedom.
They've got a 40 year head start. We've got a lot of catching up to do and not much time to do it. "Plan B" is some vague concept born of desperation.

(53,410 posts)is if they win completely and take over making the country a dictatorship. I know we have a fight ahead but Im not naïve enough to think they cant win.
Sure well fight them but what if we lose even once or just a few times more.
Thats where my comment is coming from.
