WOW, please listen to THIS:
John Fugelsang asks a Trump supporter for 13 minutes what Christian values Trump has not turned his back on, and why she bases her support on his behavior. He remains very respectful to the caller and tries to keep the...

Sadly, there are tens of millions just like her.

She is genuinely shocked that John Fugelsang can't understand that Trump Loves People.
She is your classic racist.
She will be totally fine/ disinterested if GOP gradually bought back slavery.

Really. I don't think he loves anyone but himself. But he has a predator's sense of who he can easily take down, and who he can get to submit to him.
If he wants to get a particular subset of white people support (a significant subset, but not the smart ones <g> , he knows how to do that. I'm not sure what it says about "white people" that the strategy is always, "Appeal to their cowardice and vanity at every moment."

(7,447 posts)the pure visceral hatred of Hillary Clinton. It's nonsensical, it's not based on anything rational, but clearly, clearly, there was a large group of folks who hated Hillary so much that it drove them to vote for Trump.

(2,165 posts)She doesnt like Trump, but he wasnt Hilary. When I pressed her on why she hate Hillary so badly, that a good Christian woman like her can look past all of Trumps failings, she said because of Benghazi. I told her that after forty investigations, if they found something, ANYTHING, shed be in jail. NOTHING was found. Her hatred is manufactured by Fox News.
The conversation turned to how she likes his immigration policies. Showed me a picture of a boat packed full of immigrants. This is why, she proclaimed. I said, what you do to the least of us, you do to me, quoting her favorite guy, Jesus. But, she said, THEY are changing everything! Meaning, Muslim immigrants in Europe are changing European counties, which has NOTHING to do with whats going on on the souther border. When we discuss these things, it always ends with her copping out and ending the talk. Shes done, doesnt want to be bothered, challenged, educated...
She also believes hes ushering in the end of the world.

(7,447 posts)those two things are things he is actively "fixing" through his conservative judicial appointments and he is also allowing these folks to express their Christian views more openly and with more exclusivity and state-sanction.
So of course she thinks he's "bringing back Christ."
She feels like her "team" was unpopular before and now it's more popular. She doesn't care about anything else other than being able to "loudly and proudly" say "I'm a Christian" and feel like she can say anything she wants after that.

(41,956 posts)Johns ability to stand his ground without shaming people and without condemning them is one of the best Ive ever seen. He can argue for MY kind of Christianity (atheist that I am) beautifully.
And as a retired shrink Im so fascinated by the cognitive dissonance people display when something they desperately want to hold onto is proven false. They (we-everyone is capable of it) simply lose the ability to think. They can spin, they can get emotional, they can do all kinds of things but they cant think or be reasoned with. That asshole in the WH is good at installing that unreasonable attachment to him in some people.

That caller was playing him, She was coached. Very aggravating.

(41,956 posts)He made one mistake and she took off with it. He commented that undocumented immigrants werent taking jobs she would compete for. Then she got to play a big, and maybe just, sympathy card, saying she worked many low paying jobs to support her chronically ill child. They never managed to go far down the road of what harm 45s policies were likely to do that child.
If she was coached it wasnt very well.

I hope Fugelsang cracked her wall of ignorance. Once it cracks she will start asking questions. Someday she may one really mad woman when she realizes everyone she trusted was lying to her.

(4,066 posts)She is what we are up against. The people who are uninformed, misled by FOX News and 45's tweets.
Having been brought up as the same sort of Christian as her I can tell you she was raised to believe, without question, those in authority. All of her "authority" sources are telling her 45 is a good, Christian man. It would be psychologically painful for her to have to admit she is so wrong about so much.

(10,721 posts)"It would be psychologically painful for her to have to admit she is so wrong about so much."
My dad sends email after email after email that is full of lies or, at best, misleading statements. The sort of stuff that keeps sites like Snopes in business. These emails covering a wide array of topics, sent over the course of many years, constitute the foundation of right wing ideology. And they've been proven false. Therefore, his ideology is false. I've made this point, yet the emails keep coming. I conclude that it would be unbearably painful for my 82-year-old dad to acknowledge that his entire ideology is rooted in lies and bigotry, that what he's believed for so long could be so wrong.
That he was an Eisenhower Republican makes it all the more frustrating. I think he's subconsciously aware of how much his party has changed, but the propaganda (of Fox News, Pat Robertson, etc.) and the cognitive dissonance has taken hold.

(4,235 posts)While I cant prove it, I defy that she doesnt watch faux news and isnt on fb. Pile of shite, I say. And remember how many times she said what was happening was no big deal because IT WASN'T HAPPENING TO HER. Full fucking stop. THIS is what were up against. 45's supporters overwhelmingly dont give a fuck because whats going down is happening to SOMEONE ELSE. I have a certain set of verses available from the time of the previous Nazis, in case these dumbasses care to get educated.
When she said she didnt watch/read faux and fb, she added that she did "research". Uh-huh. I wish the gang in the control room had asked her where she did her "research". Be cordial, if you must, but nail these invertebrates down with their own words. Christ.

(3,515 posts)The Trump supporter confirms my opinion that Trump supporters don't know what they are talking about. Sublime ignorance. She loved showing off her groundless devotion.
Has anyone ever read a play by Ionesco? Maybe Rhinoceros?
There is no logical connection between the interviewee's answers and the questions asked of her. She doesn't think things through. She just repeats slogans she has heard. She did not mention one teaching of Jesus that Trump carries out. Not one.
Trump does not love everyone. Not by any means. Maybe Obama came close to loving everyone, but Trump sure doesn't.

(2,809 posts)Yet I'd bet on this blind supporter to utilize the term "low information voter" describing others. Suspect far more Fox and Limbaugh consumption than she admits. Even though she admits repeatedly to being politically uninformed.
Just how to shake cult members from their confabulations? Especially when they actually believe democrats and highly educated folks are the ones who have consumed the "Kool Aid".
I don't lay claim to know all the facts about our politicians either, but I sure as hell can tell when a politician or pundit is pissing on my leg and telling me it's raining.

Poor Tiffany lied, she watches Fox shes was just too embrassed to admit it. She used all the fox talking g cult points. But she is what we are up against. She is so far gone there is no logicial argument you can use to cnahge her mind otherwise. Sadly 60 million people believe Twitler, no matter what he says or does. He is the Jim Jones cult leader of today. Ive been watching that cult series on Monday nights on the ID channel. It is obvious after watching theses episodes that 60 million American Idiots are caught up into this cult.

(2,195 posts)So she blames the other because of this supposed virtue of
working her tail off, while it is the system increasingly imposed
by the repugs and wealth worshipers that makes "working your
tail off" a losing proposition. Also, why they falsely accuse
those who don't subscribe to this as being "lazy". The hard work
is good and necessary mantra has a long history among the laboring
classes that the owners use to manipulate them.

(5,015 posts)because she can't name a Christian value, period. To these people, being Christian means believing in God, going to church, giving money to their church, trying to suppressing any carnal urges (although often failing), and doing whatever their church leaders say. Except for the last one, it is all about me, me, me, me, me. Actual values and what Christ said are irrelevant because they interfere with the prosperity gospel and the self-absorbed "being Christian is about what I do for me" belief system.
If Jesus came back today, he would throw all of them out of the churches - of course, they would reject him, too.
I wish I believed in Heaven because I'd love to know that they not going there.

she lied when she said she didn't get news from FOX. There was a change in her pace and tone... like she didn't want to be so easily "read" by John. While she was dishonest (and will have to ask Jesus for forgiveness), it's interesting that she knew enough about FOX news to deny them. Also, she was very vague about how she got her news, instead of FOX... because she was being dishonest. When you lie, you have to know follow-up lies.
