Just a hunch - does anyone else think that the renewed calls for Clarence Thomas to be impeached

may not have originated on the left?

We know of other #metoo cases that came from the Right towards those on the Left at opportune times for the Right, and I have to wonder, how could anyone that had a real concern for any civil liberties, let alone women's rights, suggest that we let DT seat yet another SCOTUS judge?

I sense something bigger happening.

Certainly not with Congress as currently constituted, calls for his impeachment would be (my guess and that only) designed to publicize Justice Thomas' abysmal record and embarrass him, if such a thing is possible.

But, if the highly unlikely were to happen, and Thomas was impeached and removed or persuaded to resign, his replacement would be a younger, cookie-cutter Federalist Society yup-yupper who views the Constitution as an impenetrable ceiling limiting individual rights and privileges instead of a guaranteed base that provides opportunity for all to advance in our society.
