Trump supporters are not "conservative" - they are "anti-liberal".

This was a description given by John Podhoretz this morning on MSNBC.

We have always known that these "Republicans" are so full of hate for "liberals" that they would die happy if they knew that two liberals were going with them.

It's an irrational hate that has been cultivated by talk radio and conservative media over many years. It is similar to the hate they have for Jane Fonda, or Hillary Clinton, or abortion doctors that take the lives of unborn babies. Their hate runs deep.

So, to call them "anti-liberal" is not that far off target. They hate liberals with a passion. Anybody that criticizes "liberals" is their natural ally, regardless of how insane they may be otherwise.

The farmers, the factory workers at the nail company, they still support him even though he is directly having a negative impact on them and their families.

They aren't in it for themselves, they HATE liberals.

I find it mind boggling that people don't comprehend this. I was shocked at Sarah Palin's coming out speech. A mean, Class A Bitch out of central casting for every B movie. But they loved her. Doesn't matter that she was a horrible person with loser kids, they would point at the Obama children and claim they were horrible.

At that point it hit me, THEY FUCKING HATE US!!!! It is why they can ignore Russia and Putin. Because they hate liberals too.

So we can keep thinking it is all about them and they are selfish. It isn't, it is all about hate for liberals.

the Pig is not selling anything new on the conservative side of the political spectrum.

He is selling the same extremist right ideology which has its foundation in the KKK and the Birchers.

racist, scapegoating, militaristic, religious bigotry, misogyny, jingoistic, paranoiac.

The right wing nutjobs I grew up with in my small town have passed this f**kery to the next generation.

They are frauds.

They pretend to;

1) believe in small government (unless it involves women's bodies or legalizing cannabis)

2) be pro life, but (they are against health care, maternity leave, child care, food programs, etc.)

3) have morals but continue to display the complete opposite.

They are EVIL, LYING, FRAUDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hannity, and their ilk have "created the "30 percenters". This group would prefer a white male controlled fascist dictatorship over a liberal government even if it caused them to lose their middle class income, their freedom, and their health care. If you gave them a choice of Hitler or Obama, they would choose Hitler.

IMHO, this is where it gained momentum:

In 1987, the Federal Communications Commission repealed a long-standing rule known as the Fairness Doctrine, which required both television and radio stations to air for an equal amount of time each side to a political argument. The repeal of the Fairness Doctrine ultimately paved the way for Limbaugh's now-distinct, politically conservative radio style to take shape. Not long after, the on-air host left KFBK for a position at the ABC Radio Network, bringing his newfound fame with him, as well as a reputation for having strong, right wing ideologies.

Putin is at war with liberalism worldwide because it threatens his regime. Trump wants to be exactly like putin and gop is on board with that. Why? With demographic changes, they probably think it will be increasingly difficult for them to win elections so they’d rather go authoritarian to keep the jobs for themselves. This is what trump is all about ‘anti-freedom’.

"Conservative" just means being cautions, risk-averse, preferring reflection to rash action, hesitant to waste limited resources.

Actually, it far better describes Barack Obama than it does Donald Trump, or any other Republican, for that matter.

But "a conservative?" Now, in Republicanese, that just means an irrational hater of any Democrat or any policies* they might advocate.

*to any Republican trolls that might chance upon this thread, you might not recognize the word "policies." In Republicanese, it is spelled "policy's." You're (Republicanese: "your" ) welcome.

The Trumpers are people who don't know or understand what happened to their formerly solid middle class life or why they aren't as well off as their parents and knowing their kids will be worse off.

So every bad thing that's happened is someone else's fault. It's immigrants coming in to take "their jobs". It's affirmative action helping everyone who doesn't look like them getting a job or promotion "they should have had instead". It's unions fighting for "others" and not them all while making everyone pay membership dues. It's the goverment "over regulation" not allowing them to just do what they want. The grievence radiates out to anyone who supports immigration, affirmative action, unions, goverment and so on.

They found a kindred soul in Trump, someone who is also aggrieved about everything (because he's essentially tried to buy his way into it, but has been rejected by polite society). They feed off each other.
