3. Yes. When my (ex) hubby worked in AC for Trump

They were REQUIRED in the food and beverage departments to hire at least 75% overseas employees with work visas. The managers were faced with the options of bonuses or loss of employment. The student temporary visas did not have work hour restrictions, so many worked 2 or 3 shifts, ate in the Trump (free) cafeteria, went home to sleep in one room with up to 20 others. Their shifts worked out so that only 10 or less were sleeping at a time. There was no time for anything else. Most came from Russia. I fondly remember 2 young men from Latvia. They worked time and a half and even double pay, and NO US TAXES were taken from their pay. No matter how many times I asked (not the kids) nobody could explain how this was a good thing for our economy. Our students, who would pay taxes, social security, medical, unemployment and who were already trained were not able to find work.
Many left in September with the amount of money that a person over there could make in a week. And I’m afraid that many just stayed. Having been trained, they chose to blend in and become a part of our society, still sending money back home.

12. Um, what does AC mean? Atlantic City? Home of Russia mob?

This story is important. Please fill in the blanks for those of us that are clueless about this policy.

Thank you.

Actually, I wouldn't want my kids working for trump in any capacity

16. Yes, AC is Atlantic City

I apologize. We all (South Jersey folk) call Atlantic City (verbally, when speaking, as well as in writing) AC. I was negligent in assuming that other people reading about Trump and knowing his history in Atlantic City would put it together. Yes, this was when Trump still maintained ownership of quite a few of the “AC” hotels.

17. I agree about kids working for Trump

Although that information was not common knowledge here back in the day. And, naturally, students from overseas had no inkling. The image of loving family man while he was married to Ivana was really hyped, and there was a true belief that he was remorseful over his affair with Marla Maples, but that he loved her. That was the spin back then. We also all knew about the mob ties. He was both generous and ruthless in business. Some people still worship him as a business leader, but the cutthroat tactics are what eventually caused my husband to leave Atlantic City and the business entirely. He moved up and came to realize that the dirty work was done by others, to keep The Donald looking like The Hero and, at times, allowing him to swoop in and “save the day.” Eventually, the things he was asked to do in the name of good business became too much for a person with a conscience. Once he refused to carry through with things that he couldn’t agree with, the system turned against him and he was the target. That was the beginning of the end. I know from first-hand experience that he is no idol.

5. The object of "Juan Crow" is insecure workers, who cannot organize or stand up for their rights,

and who therefore undercut wages

6. What if . . . ?

What if the popular media had spent as much time, hell one-tenth the time, on Trump's tax returns and financial shenanigans as they spent on Hillary's e-mails?

11. AMEN!!!!

here's hoping the Rhode Island requirement to show tax returns can withstand the scrutiny of the Russo-Ameri-Trump regime!

18. Yes indeed!

I hold the media complicit in Trump's election. Much too much coverage was given to his rallies and outrageous comments, and far too little to his actual record as a businessman. It was just plain lazy journalism at best, and advocacy at worst.

13. Wish they had put a source of that info.

I'd like to quote it elsewhere.

Great pic and message, though. Love Sam Elliot.

14. Trump nor Ivanka

Have moved their factory work back to the US to employ American workers either.
Any of Trumps tarriffs going to affect his or Ivanka's products?
Thought not.
