So I had a little fit on Facebook today,

I have tried not to be openly political on there, but the Trump administration has pushed me over the edge.

I am not comfortable being silent with the horrors that are being done in the name of all of us Americans.

I am sure I will lose friends and maybe some relatives but this is too awful to accept. There is no decency in this government.

This place has been a "safe place", I could say what I thought and you did not really know who I am.

Well, I will continue to post under my screen name but I will not hide my real self.

May name is Alice Beth (Cook) Royce, I live in Maryville TN and I will not deny my real beliefs.

I began doing it to share stories with my husband and limited the sharing to my Facebook friends - my husband, my niece and my sister. A couple of weeks ago I changed the settings so that anyone who looks at my page sees the important news stories and links.

If real life friends see that and disagree, too bad. If they post a response that pisses me off, I block them, no exceptions. Not one real life friend has commented to me about any of my links in real life. I'm not on Facebook to discuss pollitics - I'm on Facebook to follow a few organizations and to share important stories with my husband.

You can also register to vote online @ https://tinyurl.com/ybakzmcm

In order to register as a new voter or update your registration online, your personal information must match the information that is on file with the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division (MVD).

These are the things that must match:
Your social security number,
Your driver’s license number or state identification number, and
Your date of birth.

It's been ongoing for 2 days about the kids in Trumps camps. It's not political to share legitimate news from traditionally reliable sources. That's just curating information.

Only because of the right-wing noise machine that has told us for the past 40 years that news is just leftist propaganda does anyone have to feel that sharing news is a political statement.

Of course, there are people on the fringes of progressivism who don't trust traditional news sources, either, but that's a much smaller and much less strident crowd than you see on the right. In fact, pretty much every Republican you may see or encounter on social media will consider trusted news sources as "fake news." And that, to me, strikes at the very heart of the democratic republic we are trying so hard to maintain.

I had to stop posting on FB years ago because I had to censor myself. Had to stop myself from attacking a wonderful guy, former DUer. I'd rather he just think I'm a minor shit for ignoring him or know I can be a major shit by attacking him.

I'm having to do the same. Posts by jerks in forums & groups where I'd normally let it slide. It's time to speak up every time I see cruelty & ignorance rear its head. Not to say anything is to imply agreement. So I must. I try not to be ugly. But I have to say something, if only to point out that the film they saw is propaganda and to use their common sense & not believe it, when the free press isn't allowed into all the places to film.

We HAVE to point out what's wrong in what's going on. Now's not the time to be silent.
