The idea that you can't talk to

them should be ignored. Now is the time to talk and talk and talk. In the media, in public forums, to your legislators at all levels, on the street, in your homes. Truth needs to be spoken and shame should return to the public discourse. Trump has taken his followers too far to be discounted as misguided fools. This is willful ignorance at best or conspiratorial hatred. Don't stop talking. Loudly and long. Flood the zone until change happens. Silence will kill democracy.

when I asked my daughter how she feels about the children in detention - ripped from their parents - she hung up - but not before she said "I don't know what you are talking about" - pathetic..we did not talk for 6 months after the election...then she charges over and says "enough" to me..

guess faux news is not carrying the story....

We agreed not to talk politics..yes, I backed down..she just called and I rejected her call..I am heartbroken for these families...and now, becz of this POS - my own daughter, is now, once again, on my shit list.....I am heartbroken....am I the only one who has family members like this..

I'm becoming isolated because of that. I have DU. I listened to Progressive Radio. And watch a lot of MSNBC. I would like to put an anti-Trump/anti-Repug bumper sticker on my car - but I'm afraid it will become a target. It's a relief when I am finally with people that think like I do - but I have to wait until they initiate or say something to know what their political persuasion is. I don't start political discussions and hold my tongue - because I don't want to incur the wrath of a pro-Trumper Repug.

I'm almost to the point of total demoralization. I wish are elected Dem's would go on the offense or at least stick up and say something in their defense - but we don't hear much from Dems anymore.

We can't take the Blue Wave for granted and it almost looks like the Dems in D.C. are doing just that and not speaking out.

I just realized what I'm saying here. I expressed how I feel and my lack of speaking out and I just realized that this is probably the same situation with the Dems in D.C.

Everyday we watch our democracy slip further and further into the abyss. How much more of this can whats left to this democracy take?

That's how they win.

My daughters and I have been through times when we haven't spoken, and it's awful. None of those were because of political differences.
