There is A SILVER LINING.... Trump has screwed Republicans

from public office for maybe the next 10 or 12 maybe 20 years... because the PEOPLE of this NATION will NOT FORGET how fucked up its been since He was elected... and THEY damn sure will not vote for Republicans for a long damn time.

That REPUBLICAN FOX NEWS gravy TRAIN will soon come to halt, and even in the Red States, we may see more become blue.. Even stupid people learn a major lesson when bopped over the head with how bad their politicians are..

A fine Example will be Scott Pruitt... the prime example of Corruption.

There is hope since Democratic voters have increased for the special elections and primaries. I don't have the numbers, but the Dems have won a lot of elections since trump got elected. State legislatures have more Dems now. A lot of young folks have registered to vote. I don't see the Dems' voters going down in November.

And we need Mueller to strike like a bolt of lightning! There's lots more we don't know, but I keep wondering - how IS this thing going to flip those bastards from office? And when will Hannity be in the docks?

I was at the beauty shop on Tuesday. Room full and I was the only one that voted. Some said it did not matter because the candidate for Congress does not matter because they can’t do anything about Trump. Then a few others said they did not care who was in office as long as they got their paycheck. 😩 So I’m not confident at all that we will gain control of Congress. Also, I’m not sure if we can get Trump out in 2020. Might have a better shot in 2020 because more people vote for president. Still not a slam dunk though.

Even if he is, and there's a return to some semblance of sanity, immense damage has been done over the last 50 years (since implementation of The Southern Strategy/dog whistling/white backlash to Civil Rights era, The Powell Memo, Moral Majority, etc.).

There's also the possibility that an even worse person/administration will rise to power.

Regardless, the Trump cult will outlive Trump.

I fear that many people across the US believe and follow this monster.
Trump has created his own national cult following.
Many conservatives have been ripe for this for years due to Fox News and AM Radio softening them up.

I'm not saying they will prevail, I hope, and believe they won't this time.
America surely has a stronger sense of identity than to have it blown away so easily by this buffoon con man
But I don't think it will be easy.

Also Trump supporters, whether they have Trump as their leader or not, are not going away.
They will be here year after year and if Trump falls they will try to install a new dictator/con-man because their fondest dream is to be ruled with an iron fist that screams "Christianity" with every strike as it drives the country down into the earth.

Sun Jun 17, 2018, 11:12 AM
Jun 2018

After the OJ Chase networks figured out that hype could apply to news and there was money to be made. Industries were growing and supporting news advertising, think NFL and Detroit automakers and their new SUV's! Politics wasn't far behind. I know, I know, Citizens United. CU was merely the icing after the oven. That cake was baked decades before it was done.

FCC Licenses should be renewable - frequently - with performance standards for the public service portion of their operations. FCC Licenses should be pulled - fined - for non-performance. Fining because a tit or an F word has been heard when families are not asleep is not regulation. It's not even punitive. It's a band-aid to show the public how much government cares. Not very much at all.

I know, I know. Free Speech. We can't prevent lies. Without them, how would advertisers sell products, companies make profits, Wall Street stay afloat, politicians have a horse race? But we can still punish organized lies and distortion. Stay home. Cancel cable, boycott, buy competitors products. We can help choose sanity in the media.

I've been on here long enough to have been hearing some variation on this since the Supremes installed Bush 2 in 2000, on through the Iraq war, the market crash, after Obama's landslide in 2008, after the ACA passed, after every single scandal for every single Republican.

The bigger problem is not that people on here believe this, it's that I feel like too many Democrats in actual leadership positions and positions of power who should know better actually believe this and are banking way too much on this idea as electoral strategy.
