When Anita Hill testified before a Congressional hearing, when John Dean did so also...

Even when Hillary Clinton faced down the Republicans for longer than some of them typically spent awake, huge numbers of Americans were transfixed by every moment. What will start to happen come January if Democrats take the House will far surpass all that. Bill Clinton's impeachment trial might have been scintillating to some but ultimately it was banal. O. J. Simpson's trial riveted a nation as murders involving a celebrity are wont to do, but it essentially mimicked a sick spectator sport - it shook few of us to our core. When the gavel finally falls on public RussiaGate hearings, with Democrats in charge wielding full subpoena power, we will enter another realm entirely.

FOX news can't shout over what people will be tuned into themselves. David Numes will no longer be able to fill in the silence that comes from the office of a professional Special Council with his own false narrative. We, the whole nation, will all watch the witnesses testify ourselves, under oath, under subpoenas issued by a Committee that actually wants it's questions answered. And those answers will create a reckoning unparalleled in American history

If Robert Mueller has not already broken this wide open with a full report by then, the hot white glare of the spotlights will shift to the House of Representatives. In seven months. The dots will all be connected, the coverup will be revealed. The treason will be naked. And the whole world will be watching...

IF DEMOCRATS RETAKE THE HOUSE THIS NOVEMBER.

3. Yes. IF. I use this potential scenario as personal motivation. We MUST retake the House

God or Goddess forbid we start to take a giant blue wave for granted.

4. From the start I have shuddered at the use of the term "blue wave." Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Sorry, I don't mean you -- you did not invent the term.

Midterms are when Dems stay home and Repubs head to the polls because the GOP is smart enough to put red meat issues on the ballot in every midterm election.

We can't give anyone the slightest excuse to stay home on the couch.

As Stalin said (and Putin knows): It does not matter who gets the most votes, it only matters who counts the votes. And Putin is still in the mix.

5. I know. I do take some hope from Doug Jones winning in Alabama

I don't think that was Putin's preferred outcome in that race. But his victory margin was smaller than the final polls were showing. It has to be blatantly obvious that Democrats are turning out in force for the midterms this year. Our participation has to be massive enough that it is virtually inconceivable for us not to come out on top this November.

6. If we don't, we're toast.

There's a census coming up and Kennedy will probably retire. We better take the Senate too.

7. K&R.

Edited to add: There is a GOP Bubble in place that will pop once they cannot co-opt government, once gerrymandering as an obvious Wrong (Hmmm -- should we allow cheating? Discuss) is appropriately focused on, and once they realize the jig is up and they're going to be a tiny thing (see California) without power.

They'll always return, again and again -- but this is the closest we've come to full-on Bad Rule, and I think it's going to snap us forward hard.

I'm so angry today. I'm just full of venom. Children in cages. ONE MONTH OLD BABIES IN CAGES.

Fuck this crapocracy. Deport the Republican Party and Save the United States.

9. We rise up now, or stay down for the count

Each of us must make sure that every sane person we know votes this November. Seriously, that is on us all now. Democratic turnout this time has to exceed that of a typical Presidential election year.
