Almost everyone expects the IG report tomorrow to be very anti-Hillary and anti-Comey.

How do we know what the IG report will contain?

Perhaps we are basing our assumptions on the way he handled the McCabe investigation? The consensus was that he was very critical of McCabe, especially in his "leaks" to the press. McCabe argued that it was part of his job to inform the media. However, it was not enough to keep him from being fired, just hours before he was to qualify for his pension.

Also, the Trump White House has been slowly putting out information that they expect the IG report to be critical of James Comey? Does the IG feel pressured by the White House? Who knows?

The expectations are that there will probably be reactions to the report.

1. Comey deserves the criticism, look what his actions have brought.

3. Let's not repeat this silly canard again. Nunes went screaming to the Twitterspehere

after misconstruing and stretching what Comey wrote in confidential memos. Comey is not a saint, but hanging the election loss on his head is silly and unhelpful blame-shifting.

4. I read the Comey memo when it was released and thought it was no big deal...

it was basically (to paraphrase) "we've found some things they might be new but might not we'll know shortly".

Of course in a short while it was announced that there was (to paraphrase again) "nothing new to see here".

A bunch of people (in politics, the media, online and even here on DU) that distorted the issue back then
should be ashamed of themselves.

5. Nunes, Sessions and others are not happy campers at this point.

Rosenstein wants Nunes' staff investigated. A DOJ lawyer in recent days resign because of the DOJ not protecting pre-existing. Seems like t-rump and his cronies are rushing to fuck up the USA even more, and Putin is trying to be sorta nice.

Mistake from Mueller's office on a unredated document (so they informed). t-rump's lawyer recused himself and his whole office. Lying Sanders and the other guy leaving.

t-rump loves him some Uh, and oh, "F" SK and Japan.

8. "Silly canard"? And don't you mean Jason Chaffetz?

You may disagree with my assessment but please don't make an attempt to belittle me. Especially when you are wrong.

10. Chaffetz, Nunes, whatever, it's not like you can tell one alt right from another

Comey didn't sink Clinton's campaign, it was the GOP lying to the public, twisting what he said privately. My main point stands, and if you feel belittled, that is your problem.

6. Perhaps that was the IG's opinion also?

7. When you say almost everyone do you mean

almost everyone on DU or almost everyone in the twittersphere? I personally think this IG report will have the same judgment on Comey, McCabe, and maybe Loretta Lynch that Comey had on Hillary in that 2016 press conference where he called her reckless without having enough to actually charge her with anything. I am 99% sure that Spanky and his goons would have already leaked any damning information and press any charges they could actually prove on anyone on Comey, McCabe, or Hillary's side.

9. I believe (too lazy to check) that McCabe was fired not for "leaking"

But misleading investigators.

11. I think it will likely be more anti Comey and anti Lynch

The negative for Clinton will likely be that it again brings up the entire email mess, rather than faulting her on anything new. The IG's charter was to investigate the DOJ/FBI response.

It may declare the actions that clearly hurt the Clinton campaign were wrongful. That declaration, if it happens, does nothing to help us. Even as it may say the FBI was unfair to Clinton, it will show the unintended impact of the Lynch/Bill Clinton meeting which led to Lynch ceding any role to Comey.

I suspect, twitter will be a mess as both sides try to cherry pick excerpts that make the other side look bad and them look good.
