The Canadian parliament, our friends, our most loyal ally and our most significant trading partner, unanimously passed a motion to condemn trump for his slanderous and vile personal attacks on their government and their prime minister.

Just days later, trump praised a hereditary dictator that tortures and murders his own people as a “great man who loves his people”.

We are through the looking glass people. This is a place we have never been and everyone should be very concerned what these developments mean for our future.

He's turning the whole world upside down. It started with Brexit, Turkey and the Philippines. Then he hit us. Now he's normalizing North Korea and giving a global platform for brutal dictators. And let's not forget that giant rocket he has. Where does it go from there?

I'm not a Doctor of Psychology (thank gawd) but is this a way of softening up the masses so atrocities can be passed as somehow normal? (Softening masses and passing sounds somewhat lower GI.)

He’s making friends with all the countries with authoritarian leaders, who themselves are constantly scheming to stay in power. Trump is offering them something better via the USA and it’ll solidify their leadership amongst their people. In return, they will want to make sure Trump remains in power, and they will do what it takes to keep him there. I have huge worries about 2020, and even 2024.

He spoke about not having term limits on the presidency. He said it in a very light and sort of joking manner, but I felt at that very moment there was no joke involved.

Consider this, who do you think he would want to replace him? He does not want to be replaced. Not even by Pence.

The truth is often said with a smile.

I would be shocked if he leaves office willingly, due to either term limits or being voted out.
He doesn’t have much reverence for the Constitution, but he seems to have a lot of reverence for dictators.

one of the places I made reservation at I said don't hold Trump against me and she said she didn't like Trudeau either, which made me realize it was a rural area I was staying at so she was probably conservative. I immediately changed subject when she said she didn't like Justin, who I like a lot!

Before now, I would have thought that would be a weird 1984 paranoid statement. I no longer think that.

Don't you get it? They stole the election. It can't be proven but that is what happened. The Republicans have been working for many years to implement their dream of one party, one rule. We are here, people. It ain't going away. We gave it to them when we accepted the SCOTUS decision in 2000 and let the fight for Gore go down the toilet. That was the beginning of the end. We are now rapidly approaching the final scene. They WILL steal the mid-terms or cry fowl play from the Democratic Party and prosecute fake "crimes" in order to neuter Dems. There are still states that don't have paper trails and the SCOTUS "conservatives" just handed the Republicans a big victory in voter purging. They are hard at work and aren't going to let this go. We need a full response to this tyranny as detailed in the Declaration of Independence. Nothing short of that is going to fix this.

The people in the Ukraine thought their election was stolen from the voters. Millions of them went into the streets until the crooked election was overturned and a new election resulted in the rightful winner taking office, but Trump's asshole buddy seized Crimea by military invasion.
When the Supreme (really mediocre) Court handed the keys to power to Bush our experiment in self governance ceased to exist. We are now a Third World fascist dictatorship.
