Happening on the floor (Corker & poking the bear)

Last edited Tue Jun 12, 2018, 04:51 PM - Edit history (1)

Corker, fired up on floor, says GOP won’t let him get a vote on floor because they are scared about fighting w Trump. “We might poke the bear!” referring to Trump. “My gosh if the president gets upset with us we might not be in the majority,” he says, referring to his colleagues

Time after time, Trump says or does things that cross the line. And the Rs do nothing.

It makes you wonder just what it would take for them to do anything about it?

Corker, thanks for speaking. But a few senators here and there isn't going to fix this. It takes the Rs to grow a spine.

Stand up for America? They don't even have the cahunas to stand up for R principles!

May be it's McConnell who is the master, and that's why Trump acts so much like a puppet on strings at times.

Whether the GOP-led Senate is actually willing to do something about it rather than pay lip service to opposing Trump is another matter entirely. Republicans are trying to slow down the Trump administration’s deal-making with Chinese telecom giant ZTE, but Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) is pressing for a far more confrontational vote on an amendment to the must-pass defense bill that would allow Congress to block Trump’s tariffs.

“I would think that more people would be inclined … to support an amendment like this,” Corker said after the weekend’s events.

to lessen Trump admin’s ability to enact tariffs without Congressional approval. At least that’s how I’m reading it anyway - could be wrong, there’s scant info about it.

Funny how a member of his own party chose that metaphor to reference the Combover Caligula.

he had no intention of passing any legislation that would tie the Trumpster's hands in trade agreements.

Corker can cork off. Flake can decry the metamorphosis of the Republican Party (as if this started with the Trumpster) and McCain can shout warnings from his death bed but Republican leadership will do nothing because they are:

complicit and completely compromised. These are the enemies within--compromised, spineless, traitorous.
