If a Democratic President had met with Kim Jong, the meeting would not have this much support.

2. If Obama had done this, it would be presented as "treason" by the RW

It's really amazing what the GOP and RW are willing to go along with when it's Trump. End to free trade? Oh, okay. Taking campaign help from the KGB-- what's wrong with that? Meeting with a communist-state dictator? We love Kim Jong Un!
And we hate:
Canada
The NFL
The FBI
John McCain

5. a big reason for this is the media has talked it up as something positive

there is little discussion of human rights. just getting a meeting itself is seen as an accomplishment.

when the facts are that any us president would be able to get a meeting like this. but they have refused because they knew it was mostly about pr for NK .

8. If you had a chance to get Kim to leave North Korea.

Would you bring up human rights? Human rights will be made better there by his leaving and South Korea reunifying the countries. Something you have to hold the hand of the devil to make progress.

7. The one good thing that may come from the meeting.

Is that a competent President can now talk to North Korea. I honestly think that if Kim got $10 billion for each him and his sister and an ironclad assurance that he could live freely in the western country of his chosing, he would leave North Korea in a heartbeat. I honestly believe that.
