NFL players kneeling: have we forgotten?
If I remember correctly, Colin's intent when he knelt the first time was specifically to protest police brutality against black people. Then DJT turned it into a political statement by saying he was disrespecting the military, the flag, and the anthem.
Have people in general been hoodwinked by DJT and the MSM into forgetting Colin's original intent and getting into all this arguing about the flag and the anthem? IOW, did DJT get tons of people pissed off with a shithead comment? Incidentally, when the movie Poltergeist came out, there was a scene, late at night, when the TV station was signing off and playing the anthem. It's right there on the DVD. I didn't see the movie in a theater, but I just have to wonder how many people stood up during the scene.

1. Not forgotten by me and most here I dont think but good reminder.
I heard the Jets owner will pay the fines of players who kneel?
If I was a fan and my team owner wouldnt do this I would no longer be a fan. |

3. You watch: the players respond EN MASSE. . .
. . .by NOT going out onto the field until AFTER the anthem is played.
As they used to do before 2009, when the owners got greedy and took Department of "Defense" $$$ for the privilege of allowing gaudy displays of "patriotism" ![]() |

6. That isn't actually correct
The change in 2009 was only for prime time games. For regular games, players were already on the field for the anthem.

4. Don't like the rule. But if players aren't on the field during Anthem, that tells me they are
making a statement. I like the kneeling or fist in the air of old, but not being on the field still makes a statement. And god knows we need it.
Heck, I haven't watched a whole NFL game in years. If I'm even interested in the outcome, would just as soon turn in going into the last quarter. |

5. I understand, but
it seems to me that, either way, Colin's original intent is still getting buried in what's become a political issue. We need to get past the political shit started by DJT and remember what the original intent was. And it's still as relevant as when he knelt the first time.
