SupremeOs legalize republican family-values gambling

Once again showing a crud-encrusted facet of republican family values (their real values, not the FAKE ones they preach about), the republican SupremOs have now made GAMBLING the republican family-values LAW OF THE LAND.

With KGOP 'gawdd-emperor' Comrade Casino (republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief) in charge, a republican crapshoot was inevitable.

1. I don't think I've ever heard Republicans moralizing over gambling.

Plenty of things to be upset about; this isn't one of them.

FWIW - Kagan and Breyer concurred.

3. From the Southern Baptist Convention in 1984

WHEREAS, Gambling is an immoral effort that creates deliberate risks not inherent in or necessary to the functioning of society...

Much more at the link. Of course this is pre-Trump. Probably the later resolutions laud casino gambling and multiple marriages to supermodels.

4. The lottery dream.

Some poor people in this country do not want the rich to pay their fair share of taxes because they are certain they will hit the winning number some day.

8. I do admire the Social Democracies of Europe and have

no problem with gambling, as soon as we have medical care for everyone, rich people paying their share of taxes and spending what they do on education and the military.

6. Or, Supreme Court strikes down bad law that kept states from making their own decisions

9. That's not even an accurate description of the decision

The Supreme Court did not somehow legalize sports gambling. They struck down a federal law which allowed some states to legalize it, but not others. Whether states decide to do so is up to them.

What would be your take on a federal law which allowed some states to legalize marijuana, but not other states?

10. has nothing to do with republican values as ALL the Supreme Court justices rule in

favor of breaking an illegal hold over the sports betting industry

more important issues to get excited about

I am glad for this ruling as it should be in the state's hands
