I am angry, frustrated and a little scared, because the unintended consequences of the presidents $50 billion tariffs on China would cripple my business in Auburn Hills and strip my 50 employees of their good-paying jobs, she writes. This is crazy.
She then goes on to explain how her companys supply chain does have some jobs in Asia but she says those jobs also pave the way for other jobs here in the United States. Trumps tariffs threaten to disrupt her whole supply chain, she says, which also puts her American employees jobs at risk.

(14,530 posts)this is her begging for HER company to get a waiver, because she believes trump cares. Hell this isn't even about her disapproval of the tariffs, she just think they should be applied to other businesses, not hers.

(14,489 posts)That deer looking in the headlights attitude. I'm sure she's found a way to blame Democrats for this and from reading the article, she will never fault Trump.
She not only drinks the Kool-Aid, she actually helps make it by spreading this bullshit. She may even be one of those that would proudly let tRump grab her by the you-know-what.
Maybe she needs to pay Cohen a visit with a plain envelope in hand, LOL.

(9,969 posts)Anyone who had bothered to do a few Google searches in 2016 would have found out about Trumps frauds (e.g., Trump University), his poor management that drove six businesses into bankruptcy, the fines for his casino not following banking rules (hard to do that when youre laundering money for the Russians), the Polish workers he hired to work on Trump Tower and then refused to give them all their pay because they could do nothing as they were in the country illegally, the numerous lawsuits small business owners had to file to get paid for work completed, his so-called charity that used donations to buy things like a full-sized portrait of Trump as well as paying business expenses, his constant lies so that even his own lawyers attended meetings in pairs so they could substiantiate what he said, and perhaps worst of all his long-time association with Roy Cohn, his disbarred lawyer with his bag of Mafia-like dirty tricks. All this should have eliminated him from even being the GOP candidate, much less being elected. Then add his hateful rhetoric about Mexicans and Muslims, as well as his overt calls for police to use more force to hurt people when arresting them, and his incitement of violence among his supporters, and you have a known entity. If people are surprised, it means they didnt bother doing any research whatsoever prior to voting for literally what historians will say has been the worst president in the history of the U.S.

(45,421 posts)One of the reasons for the strong Trump economy: More workers in the U.S. make products that are made from steel than make steel itself. Billions of dollars are pumped into the American economy by the unique and ingenious ways U.S. companies use steel and aluminum components like we do at Lucerne.
I wonder: Does President Trump know that his tariff on imported components threatens almost every manufacturing job in Michigan?
Does he know that my little company in my little corner of Michigan would lose 90 percent of its business overnight? Does he understand that a 25 percent tax on the components Lucerne uses would evaporate my profit margins? That it would shut us down?
I don't think he does. Because I know my president cares and I've got to believe he will change his mind, grant sensible exclusions, and help companies like Lucerne make America great again.
Hoping he'll only screw other people. My brain hurts from reading her impeccable logic.

Trump showed throughout his campaign that he was embarrassingly clueless on all the issues, including trade. This woman is was either too stupid to notice (doubtful), or she was so enamored Trump's racist rhetoric that she didn't care that he was dumber than a stump. Either way, she can fuck right off.

(11,885 posts)Unless he pays rump's tribune to him, he's doing like Putin. In Russia under putin he corrupted all businesses , and only the most corrupt won control over their industry sectors , while the others were criminalized with corrupt courts to get control of them. Rump's doing that now here , setting it up to threaten with , and corrupt it where he can pick who'll do the controlling for HIM. Just like Putin did in Russia.

(15,805 posts)She wanted to vote Republican and she heard Trump promising that he was good for business. She chose not to hear Trump vowing to make protectionist policies that would isolate the US and break trade agreements that would shut foreign markets to American businesses.
Lessons learned, better late than never; don't trust Trump, and Republicans are detrimental to business.
