7. They're anti gay and oppose abortion

But are also anti having sex with prostitutes and violating every one of the 7deadly sins, so I guess they have mixed feelings like any Christian must who supports Trump.

Ask Zarathustra to bless them, give a pint of fresh goat's blood & send them on their way!

4. Being from Arkansas,

I tell Mormon missionaries that there were kin in the Mountain Meadows Massacre. I usually have to explain to the young guys what that was (strangely enough they apparently don't talk about the Massacre in BYU), and then ask how Brighman Young could authorize murder.

That usually saves me until the next years' group.

5. The last time I got paid a visit I informed them I was an Atheist.

They seemed genuinely shocked.

They commented that they didn't know of any Atheists in this area.

There have been no return visits.

12. I use that too, here in Utah.

I'm a third generation atheist. When I was in grade school, my Mormon friends liked to take me to "primary" (an weekday afternoon class for young Mormons) and Sunday school. The first thing I was asked by the leader/teacher was "Are you Mormon?" then "What church to do you go to?" When I told them no church because I'm and atheist they did not know what to say. They were shocked and confused and it apparently disrupted the class enough that my Mormon friends loved it.

It grew old quickly. I only did it a few times. By the time I got to middle school/junior high I was too bored by it all. By High School I no longer hung out with Mormons.

If you get a chance, see the musical. It's wonderful & funny. I've seen it four times & hope to see it again when it's in town next fall.

17. I always tell them I believe in full equality between men and women

and ask if they do, as well. They usually move on after trying to say men and women are equal but with "different responsibilities". Ick!

Even if they hate tRump, they, like the rest of the evangelicals, are glad to support anyone who crushes womens rights, minority rights, separation of church and state, public schools, etc.

18. Are you talking about the kids who take a couple years after HS to do missionary work?

I had a Mormon friend in HS. Nice kid. Never tried any indoctrination crap on me. A year after graduation, I called up to talk to him and was informed by his family that he was out doing missionary work. Honestly, I felt sorry for him.

21. It's actually quite an opportunity for the young men. If they get a foreign posting ...

...they not only get to see the world, but they have to learn a foreign language. They gain sales skills from trying to convert people. They have an opportunity to mature away from Mom and Dad.

Looking at the mission experience non-religiously, you can see how young men are being fitted for any number of lucrative careers as adults. I wonder how many end up in government service where language skills are a big plus?

I'm not Mormon -- far from it -- and as a woman I am very glad my parents were not. It's the kind of culture where you can be happy as long as you think and act like the majority, but if you deviate significantly in your thoughts or behavior, life will become very painful.

37. They also have to pay their own way to do the missionary work...

If they don't have well-to-do parents, they're often doing fundraisers and holding down jobs to pay for it.

to get two visits in a row. Surely you are sinned out for this month, so tread easy.

Did you ask them if they had on their magic underwear?.......

20. Goodness it's been ages since I had a visit.Over my lifetime I've had fundamentalists of all stripes

...come calling: Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and Hasidic Jews. I really don't want any fruitless discussions, and they are all so earnest I hate to be rude.

But back in college I learned that allowing anything past "Good morning" meant I was going to be late for work, so I settled on simultaneously shutting the door and saying "Go in peace."

With the Hasids I had to allow a little more conversation because it was my husband's soul they were after, not mine, and they had known my late father in law. I promised to pass along the message. Ultimately we moved away, though.

Strangers who tell me to "have a blessed day" hear "Blessed Be" in return, and I do hope someday they figure out they've just gotten a Pagan/Wiccan blessing for their troubles. Bwahaha.

22. I know Mormons who are anti Dump.

...with that said, the leadership is between a rock in a hard place. They got involved in politics...which worked for their advantage initially...but now it's coming to bite them in the ass. Doesn't help the leadership is anchored to the ideology, etc. when Mormonism was founded...long story short, their business model is failing.

23. I come from a large republican Mormon family

A few of us are Democrats. I only know of 1 person in my family that voted for Trump (current count is 22 Hillary, one obstain and 1 Trump). The one that did vote for him is firmly against Trump now.

Very family is different I suspect, but in my experience most Mormons donít like him.

30. They also keep women from dressing provocatively.

All your clothes have to cover them up.

A lot of women roll them up to keep them from showing. I always thought they must be warm in summer.

And I heard that you could never take them completely off even to bathe. That would make showering awkward.

Hadn't heard about the Indians.

As the Comedian says, got a million of them. Indian thing comes from a Book written about the origin of the Magic Garments. Found a reference also in a Book Penned by the Scribe of a US Army Detail assigned to escort one of Young's first Wagon Trains .

Mormon Radar=Ex Mormon's detecting Mormon's.

Tell tail evidence of Magic Underwear are the fold lines on Jeans or snug fitting clothing.

Tell tail evidence of Magic Underwear is,the layered look and no strap type of tops or short shorts.

33. I lived in SLC for 6 years.

I went to 2 years high school and then to U of U.

What I find interesting is how .Mormon people can compartmentalize their religion. I had wonderful Anthropology professors that were Mormon. Did not seem to bother them a bit.

I knew lots of wonderful Mormons. Most of them were not Temple Mormons.

Lived on the South Border, they did not call it Dixie for nothing. Talk about backassward. Mostly Temple Mormons. ,

And that is another book of jokes.

Find my neighbors in Mesquite on Friday and Saturday nights, free drinks at the Casino's,pre 2008 housing crash, half hour home on Sunday for ten o'clock meetings.

And that is another book of jokes.

39. Trump only got 45% of the vote in Utah

a state that Romney won by 40%. Many Mormons to their credit actually did desert Trump (in part over immigration and in part over his attacks on a minority religion).
