We were so fortunate to see such a public servant in the White House in our lifetime. If nothing else, it serves to remind us it is possible.

Back in 2007-08, Obama was not my first choice and with good reason. He was so young and untested. I would have been more comfortable with a Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton, but over the years Obama proved himself again and again to be inherently suited for the role as President. As each year passed, I grew to love him and his family in ways I had not expected. Of course, as I watch the nightmare in the White House now, I appreciate more than ever how truly lucky we were for eight years. Best president of my lifetime!
