certain folks look for ANY reason to criticize you, I wish they would stop actively trying to harm the Democratic Party.

(1,154 posts)Kamala can handle it, she is both smart and tough. California politics is a rough sport, and she has done well.

for President some day soon. She is a great communicator. Same reason that they attack Pelosi. Because they are great. They are stars. Harris for 2020!!! (Pelosi will be House Majority Leader then. Maybe Joe Kennedy III as VP).

After careful consideration, I think it applies to most republicans.

(11,535 posts)That kind of nonsense is SO self-defeating, unless one's sense of self is duty, or affiliation or what-have-you to only one's self. That narrow a self-serving focus could quite easily be aiming at one's feet, but seeing only those of people that make them feel diminished in some way. Where a slash-and-burn approach is so preferable to cooperation for shared goals.
Rather like a survey I read lately. In it, they found that among the circa 2000 Republicans they surveyed, a solid majority said they would be happier making $50K a year when all their coworkers were making $25 than they would be if they were making $100K and their coworkers were making $200.
Goes a long way to explaining the "voting against one's own interests" we read here so often, and Democrats bashing other Democrats. I believe it to be a pathology.

(11,175 posts)Anyone making a public statement about how the Democratic Party could do better is criticizing the Democratic Party, and anyone criticizing the Democratic Party is actively trying to harm the Democratic Party.
And if you disagree with this statement, then you are obviously a troll or a paid Russian operative, or perhaps you're just off your meds.

(463 posts)It's early, and there are number of other potentials I'm certainly prepared to look over, but I've intensely liked her from her AG days.
I think she would be a continuation of the future promise for the country that President Obama began.

(10,811 posts)we're all in favor of women in positions of power. Except that woman.
Sound familiar? Same old, same old.
And yes, Eliot. This is an attack on Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party. It needs to be shut down. NOW.
