(60,010 posts)No capital letters for "first lady".....sheesh.
same with "House majority leader"
Schizoid approach for the Cabinet heads:
"Administration Officials:
Jim Mattis, secretary of defense
Steven Mnuchin, secretary of the Treasury, and Louise Linton
Kirstjen Nielsen, secretary of homeland security, and Chad Wolf
Mike Pompeo, director of the C.I.A. and secretary of state nominee, and Susan Pompeo
Wilbur Ross, secretary of commerce and Hilary Ross"
More of the same, ad nauseum, but I do see this, also:
Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, senior advisers to the president

(14,249 posts)I thought at first that it was sloppy, too. But this is just their standard style - for example, the Times never capitalizes majority leader and first lady and while its capitalizes the Treasury (probably because the the makes it a thing) but not most of the other cabinet departments, which are descriptive. Weird, but at least theyre being consistent.
