Why is there a Bernie Sanders group?

The last post there was February 18, yet the board is littered daily with OPs recounting his every move.

There are no major declared candidates for the 2020 Presidential election, nor is there a forum for said election. The Bernie Sanders group exists for the same reason as those for Hillary Clinton and the rest of the former Presidential candidates. Why can't the several obsessed posters respect the agreed-to rules and relegate inconsequential conversations about individuals to their respective groups, thereby returning GD to its intended use?

Is it asking too much?

Here's the Hillary Clinton group SOP:

Discuss the life, career, and accomplishments of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Supporters only.

The last post was yesterday.

They believe it will not get the attention they think it deserves, which it probably would not. They all show up in the latest threads which I check multiple times daily, so it's not like I don't have a chance to see them anyway. The bigger question is why is there still a Lincoln Chaffee group? When was the last time anyone saw a Lincoln chafee post?

... the forum named after that politician?

Last I checked, GD was for politics, issues, and current events.

Has there been some rules change announcement?

Lotsa rules here are unwritten, but well understood. Last I checked, this was discussed ad infinitum, and it's in most posters' DNA.

Most.

There is no rule, unwritten or otherwise, that suggests posts about a politician should only go in the that politician’s named forum. Not even close.

The “groups” are safe-havens where pro and con discussions are not allowed. Only pro discussions.

I never cared much for safe haven groups. I almost never post in them.

Du as plenty of tools at your disposal to tailor your OWN experience. You are going to get much better results using those tools instead of pleading for enforcement of nonexistent rules.

Some former GD hosts have been PPRed. It means squat to me.

BTW, I don't need "tools" to hide from the irresponsibility of others - even were it possible.

Because it's not schtick. Im sure you likely have a point but your chosen method of delivery comes across as gruff, terse and a little bound-up. I'm certain that there is a more mellifluent voice within you to be harvested.

But.

My point is that I'm blocking you too until you can find a constructive method to deliver your thoughts that invites readers to hear your voice.

Cheers and be well.

I count 30 OPs since April 14 (the latest being today, 303 PM ET). You might be looking at the pinned posts. Please look past the pinned posts, and sort by "start time" (or use the link above)

Although 95% of the OPs are from the same person.

I agree though, in GD and elsewhere there are far too many "Bernie just kissed a baby" posts.

But there's a great excess of gratuitious Bernie-bashing posts too. I wish both sides would give it a rest.
