If you still have a gift card, you better act fast!

Toys R Us will no longer be accepting gift cards after Saturday.

The toy store filed for bankruptcy in September and announced it would be closing all its stores for good last month, and stores have been holding going out of business sales since.

Toys R Us was honoring gift cards since it filed for bankruptcy. After Saturday the gift cards will be worthless.

1. I read somewhere and I can't find it now, so take it what it's worth:

That Bed, Bath & Beyond would be honoring TRU gift cards.


On edit: I just did more research and BBB will only honor TRU cards for a "few more days" and it said "at a discount" so I don't know what that means.

Buying Retailer gift cards is too much of a gamble anymore and have stopped doing so. I will simply give cash as gifts if I don’t purchase a specific item.
