The thread asking DUers of color to tell their stories: a question

EffieBlacks's post asking people to tell their stories was an eye-opener for me and probably for a lot of other people. But I'm curious about something: is the behavior related in the replies more prevalent in some specific parts of the country than in others? Or is it more prevalent in large metro areas than in small towns? Or is it something else? IOW, is there a pattern?

1. I'm tempted to say

racists are everywhere, but maybe I'll be proved wrong.

2. Well, I've lived in quite a few places. I've never lived in one that

didn't have some racism in it. Racism is everywhere, even where people don't think it is. It's more open in some places than others, but it's there - everywhere.

4. I saw the N word on the Berkeley campus

It was scratched into the paint on a parking kiosk. It took two calls to the Facilities Management department to get it removed, and I almost had to raise my voice on the second call.
