Trump will be backed into a corner if the Judge does not give him a favorable ruling today.

He will be put in an untenable position. It could be a desperate situation for him. How does he react?

In my opinion, he will try to fire someone or he will try to pardon someone. He will call it a "witchhunt" that must be ended.

He is beginning to look like a cornered animal.

As for Cohen, it is good to remember that there is no honor amongst thieves.

1. I think he'd love to quit (on his terms), but the Russians will kill his family.

14. Trump is suffering boiled frog syndrome; he is that unwise.

If tRump "declared victory" and resigned, he could salvage something for his family's brand. Not a lot but something, and his base would venerate him for ever and claim he was sabotaged by a "soft coup". They would buy his crap and even send money if he claimed he was no longer wealthy.

The longer he stays the more he damages his brand. The more vehement his denials, the more the comeuppance will knock him down when it comes. He is determined to stay to the bitter end, or nearly, because he still thinks he is a winner. If he stays too close to the bitter end even a lot of his base will desert him. There will always be a few hardest core that will stick, but few. The longer he wriggles on the hook, the less this looks like a soft coup and the more it looks like meticulous prosecution of a large dark conspiracy and the more it looks like treason.

29. I think this underestimates his base's "bunker mentality" and tenacity with a sunk cost fallacy.

There's just no kind way to say this about them, but they weren't part of Trump's base because they're reasonable.

30. All true. But many are bandwagon followers. "belonging" looms large in their psyches. Tipping points

At a certain point there will be an avalanche and all those who are going to leave will suddenly leave, not wanting to be the last one to leave.

It's possible the tipping point among RepubliCon Representatives and Senators might be reached before the final fracture of the base, if the fear of the Blue Wave becomes strong enough. RepubliCons might be willing to do anything to get out in front and pretend they never supported tRump.

31. I think he doesn't quit because he wants to keep his power to pardon.

Mostly for himself I believe.

2. How does he react?

The obvious answer is by appealing the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Trump himself will commence rage-tweeting.

21. Indeed it is a right but it is also a strategy against low-net-worth opponents.

tRump-Cohen seem to forget that trying to endlessly-litigate against a deep pockets client like the Government is just a waste of money. The odds are worse than the odds for surviving a Russian nerve-agent/fall-from-heights hit squad.

That is what rethugs do when they canít answer a question. They gaslight you into believing that the asker has no right to even pose the question to begin with.

I forget. She had an undocumented housekeeper. But I think lots of people may have undocumented people working for them and not know it.

11. It was Clinton

Zoe Baird had an undocumented housekeeper and her nomination went down the toilet
Then, second nominee Kimba Wood had the same problem and had also worked (gasp) in a Playboy Club when she was in her 20s and her nomination was quickly tanked.

Then, Janet Reno came along

and let the courts sort it out ... there sure is something in those tax returns and these Cohen files that Donald J. Trump does not want to be made public

26. I think he'll lash out like a four year old having a tantrum when his mommy

didn't buy him the candy car he wanted.

But I think he's too stupid to realize how much trouble he is in.
FOX News will tell him the prosecutors are bad people or blame it on someone else.
He will believe them and carry on.

He might fire someone during his tantrum but I do not think he fully appreciates what is happening to him.
