Updated: This is NOT a real ad
Krugman and Buzzfeed used it to make a point
Some on DU seem to think this should be pointed out
So that is what I am doing
pointing that out

peace,
kp

2. Phony ad

Funny, but shouldn't be taken as real as Krugman seems to imply.

6. And thats the problem we have these days; stuff like this is taken to be real

Especially on Facebook. And it comes from both sides. Supposed quotes from politicians and others, "facts" that arent remotely believable after the first read, etc.
I call out my friends on it constantly. It only takes a couple minutes to find out if someone actually said something.

And now that you can put famous peoples faces on other bodies in videos, who knows where that will lead? "I saw the video" used to be a pretty good point. "They" are already doing it with stars faces in porn videos.

7. Krugman

posted the source:
Trapped In The White House: Many Trump Aides Are Too “Toxic” To Get Jobs
Companies that would normally jump to hire presidential aides are worried about the backlash and potential legal drama that comes with hiring the Trump brand.

and so did I, no intention to mislead

8. No intent?

No clarification either. Can you say no one reading that thought it was a real ad?

I like 7962's reply.
Not a big deal, but one problem of the internet.

13. But it does accurately illustrate a REAL problem right now,

though Krugman should have provided explanation for the many who won't open the link.

It's certainly in no way contradicted by the article, which is actually quite kind. Although it refers to concerns about possible anti-immigrant, anti- free trade views, my biggest concerns, not mentioned at all, would be bad, very untrustworthy character, lack of ethics, and terrible judgment.

Anyway, we all knew back when they were getting hired on that it would end up this way for most. Many weren't even C-listers to begin with, just unqualified people who saw opportunities to leap far glam jobs far above their level and went for them.
