Cohen earned his law degree in 1991 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, which later became affiliated with Western Michigan University. To say that Cooley is bottom-tier doesnt begin to describe the problems; Cooley is the sub-basement of the bottom-tier, and then digging furiously through the floor deep into the substrata below.
Cooley has been accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) since the mid-1970s, but that accreditation is on increasingly shaky ground. According to ABA Standard 501, a school shall not admit an applicant who does not appear capable of satisfactorily completing its program of legal education and being admitted to the bar.
The foundation of Cooleys problems are its unbelievably lax admission standards, accepting almost 86% of applicants in 2016. The entering class that fall had a median GPA of 2.90 and median LSAT score of 141 (bottom 15th percentile of test takers).
In several blog posts lamenting the ABAs failure to end predatory admission practices, law professor and chair of the National Advisory Council for Law School Transparency David Frakt described Cooleys 2015 entering class as statistically the worst entering class of law students in the history of American legal education at an ABA-Accredited law school, cementing the colleges status as the law school of last resort.

What depths will these law schools sink to in order to keep their doors open?

The American Bar Association recently released Standard 509 reports from every accredited law school in the country, and theres much to be learned from the information that can be found within them. Based on the law school enrollment data in these reports, such as incoming students LSAT scores and undergraduate GPAs, we can determine which law schools are dabbling in what David Frakt, who serves as chair of the National Advisory Council for Law School Transparency, refers to as predatory admissions practices.
Frakt has analyzed the most recent Standard 509 reports available, and hes come up with a list of what he calls the bottom 10 least selective law schools in the country. Thats a mouthful, so were going to go ahead and call them the worst. Here are the five or actually six, thanks to a tie worst law schools in the country:
1. Thomas Cooley Western Michigan U 146/142/139. Cooley has already been found out of compliance with Standard 501 by the ABA. They recently lost in their efforts to get a restraining order against the ABA to keep this secret from prospective students and did little to improve their chances of having that decision reversed with this years embarrassing incoming class, with similar credentials to last years (147/141/138). But the school is still making a fortune with an entering class of 458, third largest in the country (after Georgetown and Harvard). Cooley accepted 85.6% of applicants, far and away the highest acceptance rate in the country. (Vermont, with 159 entering 1Ls, was second, with a 78.8% acceptance rate.)

Who does this? No lawyer does this. LAWYERS DON'T DO THIS!

The Washington Post reports that President Trumps associates are worried because Trumps personal attorney, Michael Cohen, had some proclivity to make tapes. Apparently, Cohen would regularly tape conversations with his associates, and the Trump people dont know who else he might have recorded.
I am aware of no words or curses in English, Elvish, or Orcish that adequately capture the drooling stupidity of a lawyer who makes voice recordings of conversations with his client. Its simply not done. They dont teach you not to do it in law school, just like they dont teach you where to poop in high school. YOU ARE JUST SUPPOSED TO KNOW BY THE TIME YOU GET THERE.
Since I honestly dont know what to say, here are just some random quotes from lawyers I know on Facebook who I told the news to while waiting for my coffee to brew:

THERE ARE NO DUMBER HUMAN BEINGS ON EARTH
This reminds me of that Onion article about the guy who wrestled the crocodile. {Ed note: That was a classic.}*
Thank you for playing should we, or should we not, listen to the advice of the galatically stupid MICHAEL COHEN.
My own thoughts turned to this.
