Trump Gloats That His Trade War Is Going To Hurt The American People

https://www.politicususa.com/2018/04/06/trump-trade-war-american-people.html

First, Trump blamed all previous recent presidents for his trade war, “We don’t have a trade war. We’ve lost a trade war because for many years, whether it is Clinton or the Bushes or Obama, all of our presidents before have for some reason it just got worse and worse.”

Later, in the WABC interview, Trump admitted that the trade war will hurt the American people, “So I’m not saying there won’t be a little pain. But the market’s gone up 40%, 42%. So we might lose a little bit of but we’re going to have a much stronger country when we are finished and that’s what I’m all about. We have to do things that other people wouldn’t do. So we may take a hit and you know what? Ultimately we’re going to be much stronger for it. But it is something we had to do.”

There is no reason for a trade war besides Trump’s desperate need for something that he can call a political win. Just the threat of a trade war with China is damaging the US economy. It wasn’t Obama, the Bushes, or Clinton who lost on trade. It is Trump who is currently losing on trade. The Chinese are prepared to unleash tariffs on US products that will hit red states who voted for Trump hard.

Trump doesn’t care if the trade war hurts the people who voted for him, because he never cared about them. Trump could make sure that these people don’t feel pain. Instead, he is happy to inflict hardship upon them because he thinks that it will lead to a “win” for him. Trump will lose any trade war that he fights because it will be the American people who pay for his decisions.

Yes, it is out of context. However, losing our collective asses is more like it. If this is winning, he's right about one thing: "We'll be so tired of winning". Boy howdy.

Right here, if the reporter had any guts he/she would have followed up with, "excuse me sir, does it hurt pulling numbers out of your ass? Does it become less painful over time?"

It was 19,827 when he was inaugurated. It's 23,849 right now. That's a jump of 4,022. That'd make it a 20% jump to get to where it is today.

Moron.

2016, when Obama was president. The upward trend has not changed outside of statistical bounds, at least until the last 10 days.

What an idiot. (Edit: Not you. After i read it, i thought i might look like i was talking about you. You know who i'm talking about!)

...my numbers start from his inauguration in Jan 2017. As far as I'm concerned the first year of any presidency belongs to the prior president so that growth is Obamas. Since Trumps first economic year its been heading down.

He's definitely a moron.

trade war will effect the upcoming meeting with North Korea. I thought we needed China's help to keep the sanctions in place so that N. Korea will come to the table ready to give up their weapons.

Isn't that the last line of the song that Donnie Two Scoops told CPAC attendees? At the time, everyone was wondering WTF was he talking about. Now they know.

As an aside, the song, "The Snake," was written by black activist communist Oscar Brown Jr. How it got into the speech of a literary ignoramous such as Trump is unknown.
