Walmart stores evacuated as threats continue

Walmart stores in Leavenworth and Lawrence (KS) were evacuated today after a string of bomb threats continued against the discount chain.

A threat phoned into the Grandview Walmart about 4:30 a.m. Sunday said there was an explosive planted at the Leavenworth store. That, said Leavenworth Police Deputy Chief Dan Nicodemus, led to an evacuation and search of the store and parking lot.

Threats also were phoned in to both Walmart stores in Lawrence, just minutes apart and shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, said Douglas County Sheriff’s Sgt. Randy Roberts.

No bombs were found.

On Friday, Walmarts in Raytown and Gladstone (MO) were cleared out after similar threats, which echoed similar situations at the chain’s stores across the country.

What do you intend to do with that if there is a bomb threat at Walmart?
Do you just wave it at the cops and head on in?
Are you Woodward or Bernstein?
Do you think a "press pass" gives you access to a criminal investigation?
