President Trump is privately pushing for the Pentagon to pay for his proposed border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, according to a new report.

The Washington Post reports that Trump made the suggestion to several advisers last week, saying it was a "national security" issue that the wall be funded.

Trump reportedly told Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) in a meeting last week that the military should pay for the wall. Ryan offered little reaction to the idea while senior Capitol Hill officials called its prospects unlikely, the newspaper reported.

Start a gofundme for the wall. All proceeds go to construction of the wall. See how many people are actually serious about having a bazillion dollar wall to protect them from the mean old Mexicans. In fact, we could have a segment on the nightly news about how much of the wall has been funded each day: "Now Donald will be able to build half a mile of wall". That might be a good way to convince the idiots that they are in the minority of a minority who wants the wall.

The DoD's budget will be run way up. That's okay, because it's "for national defense." The money is channeled through DoD accounts to private contractors. You know the ones.

The Pentagon is not "paying" for a wall. You are.

They would look at all the research data and see that the numbers don't match the lies Trump has been pushing, and conclude his wall was not a necessity.

Trump is out of ideas, nobody wants his stupid wall, not even the cheering mouthbreathers that show up to see his stage shows. It was a joke, everyone knew it was just a one-liner, something so silly that comedians toss the schtick to the audience for laughs. Everyone was in on the joke and they all had a good time chanting the chorus refrain, but Trump is so stupid he thought it meant he actually had to build a 2000 mile wall. Now he's painted himself into a corner and can't figure out how to save face and cover up his idiocy.
