I believe I have a solution to those who want to own military weapons

while keeping them off the streets. Also a good business opportunity for entrepreneurs or even corporations to make money . You may own that type of weapon but it has to be kept at a SECURE enclosed range locked up like a safe deposit box. You have a key range has a key. You check in show your registration and receive your weapon . You can the go out and shoot the hell out of watermelons, propane canisters and whatever else the range will set up for your enjoyment. When finished you turn in your weapon leave through a metal detector and are searched. Win win right, money made by range and you can shoot up shit to your heart's content or until your time / money runs out. No one takes you gun and you still can enjoy your hobby right. Thoughts ?

4. The alternative is to join the military- if they won't take you you lose all guns forever

If you find that you're penis is shrivelling due to a lack of assault weapons use, serve your country. If they won't take you, you certainly have no business ever owning a gun of any kind as your judgment is obviously impaired.

5. Thank you, but I'll keep my AR at my house where I can use it if I need it.

Your proposal is not so much a win win.

Ordinarily, our military is not using semi-auto AR style rifles for combat.

.
It's just a rifle that shoots an intermediate cartridge. The only thing that makes it special is that I'll have a 30 round magazine.

There is little chance that I'll need to use a firearm to defend myself or family, but an AR is a very useful tool for the job.

If ARs went away through confiscation, I'd use the next best thing I have. Probably a stock SKS.

There's already a big market catering to people who want to indulge their fantasies by driving a race car, being the captain a pirate ship, dive a submarine, or fly a fighter jet. You can even go into space or visit the space station. Shooting ranges can provide the same experience for people who want to shoot a certain type of gun, even if they don't own one.
